(she/her)
Hello! My name is Elysa Thangchaipinyokul, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Southern California. I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Southern California. With over 15 years of experience in the mental health field, I have worked in both outpatient and inpatient settings providing psychotherapy services primarily to adults and older adults. My therapeutic approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to each individual’s unique needs. I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients develop healthier coping strategies, improve emotional well-being, and navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and resilience.
During our initial session, I will provide a brief introduction about myself to help you feel comfortable and supported as we begin working together. I will also take time to learn more about your personal experiences, concerns, and the reasons that brought you to therapy. Together, we will explore your goals and create a collaborative treatment plan tailored to your unique needs and the progress you hope to achieve throughout your therapeutic journey.
With over 15 years of experience in the mental health field, I am passionate about helping clients create meaningful and lasting positive change while supporting personal growth and emotional healing. My therapeutic style is empathetic, collaborative, nonjudgmental, and empowering, allowing clients to feel heard, supported, and understood throughout the therapy process. I strive to help clients build greater self-awareness, strengthen resilience, and develop healthier coping strategies so they can navigate life’s challenges with increased confidence and emotional well-being.
I am best positioned to support adults and older adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, stress, and life transitions. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, stuck, or uncertain about how to move forward in different areas of their lives. I also work with individuals who are navigating relationship challenges, career stress, changes in identity or purpose, loss, and difficulties managing emotions or negative thought patterns. My goal is to provide a supportive, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where clients can feel safe exploring their experiences while developing healthier coping skills, greater self-awareness, and emotional resilience. Together, we work toward improving overall emotional well-being, strengthening confidence, and creating meaningful, lasting change.
