I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of California, where I was born, raised and educated. I have numerous years of experience working with children, teens and adults who are struggling with challenges in their lives. I excel at helping client's recognize their self worth and strengths by providing a supportive and strength based practice with a bit of humor. I have worked with clients navigating divorce, child welfare system, adoptions, divorce/child custody, educational issues, anxiety, mild depression and relationship issues.
When I meet with a client for the first time, I like to prepare them for the session by being open, honest and transparent. I feel open communication is the best way to minimize anxiety and begin a trusting working relationship. I let them know that this first session is about gathering information so that we can identify goals and relevant factors that may be impacting the client and any safety factors that may be present.
My greatest strengths is that I am able to provide a safe and non-judgemental space where clients can vent, share, laugh, cry and question in a supportive environment. Together we will work on sustainable goals and ways to accompish those goals.
I enjoy connecting with individuals and helping them learn how strong they can be to overcome and learn from any obstacles or challenges they encounter, and helping them learn how their perception can make life changing improvements. I love people who have a sense of humor and are willing to challenge themselves to become a better version of themselves.
Debbie Mancillas offers therapy covered by Health Plan of San Joaquin - Medi-Cal in California.
By challenging the client thoughts and actions, together we learn how to reframe those thoughts and change the reactions.
I use stength based treatment to help the client identify some of their positive coping strategies and strengths, to guide them in having more positive thoughts about themselves.
I enjoy being present with the client and meeting them where they are at emotionally, as they navigate changes or challenges in their life.
