My clinical experience has given me a broad understanding of the unique challenges people face at different stages of life. I strive to create a respectful and supportive environment where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered.
In today's fast-paced world, many people find themselves overwhelmed by daily responsibilities and may be disconnected from what brings meaning and fulfillment to their lives. It is common to push aside difficult thoughts and emotions simply to get through the day. Over time, however, this can leave us feeling stuck, isolated, or uncertain about how to move forward. I want to assure you that it is okay to reach out and talk it out.
Whether you are navigating a major life transition, experiencing relationship difficulties, seeking greater self-understanding, or simply looking for a safe space to process your experiences, therapy can provide an opportunity to gain insight and perspective. My approach is direct yet empathic, collaborative, and solution-focused, while remaining grounded in genuine compassion and practical feedback. Together, I can help you explore the challenges you are facing, identify patterns that may be holding you back, build upon your strengths, and work toward meaningful, positive, and lasting change.

I'm a Bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, with 19 years of clinical experience, 15 years licensed within private practice.
I consider myself to be bicultural. Having been raised as a first-generation American in a Latin family, I can identify with the mentality of someone living within two "worlds". Transitioning from one culture to another with seemingly different values, beliefs and language. I can easily understand the struggle that maintaining, and existing in both, can sometimes be. I've come to perceive and appreciate it as the gift of having a "bridge" that allows connection to, and understanding of, different aspects of people and life.
My education has a foundation in Clinical Psychology, woven with holistic transpersonal themes, the connection between mind, body, and spirit, and just plain down-to-earth common sense. Always keeping in mind the client's personal beliefs and values.

Thanks for taking the time to read my profile. I'm a short-term, solution-oriented therapist that focuses on identifying and relieving on mild-to-moderate mental health symptoms, likely related to newer onset life stressors: family and relationship issues, school and work, grief and loss, medical diagnoses, etc. Though I would love to serve all that are seeking mental health therapy, it's important that I remain within my scope of competence and scope of practice. Therefore, I'm ethically unable to accept clients seeking long-term/maintenance care or specialized interventions (e.g., trauma, OCD, etc.).
My approach to therapy tends to resonate best with clients who are moderately motivated to truly seek out solutions to their issues and symptoms, and are willing to do the work- both in session, and out- to achieve the results desired. We collaborate to identify the issues, and put in the actual work to make change for resolution. Though I am a clinician that utilizes evidence-based practices and interventions, I would definitely say I'm also a bit of a life coach!

I invite you to come with me on a journey of your own choosing where we will walk together in darkness to find the light you’ve been seeking. Whether you choose me or another therapist, make the choice to just give it a try. Sometimes all you need is another person to hold the light while you do the work you need to heal.

Are you struggling to make decisions about how to move forward to build the life you really want? Maybe you even know what you want but you are blocked somehow from moving forward?

For over 14 years now, I have been supporting folks in their mental health recovery journey by creating a safe space to explore what it would take to have a fulfilling and meaningful life. Much of this journey involves clarifying and aligning with personal core values, improving relationships, and implementing healthier and more enjoyable coping skills and daily routines.
I know the real you is in there, possibly blocked by self-doubt and unhelpful thoughts that could be saying "who do you think you are to ask for more?" You have one precious and fleeting life! Let’s explore together how to make the most of it. I believe in you!

I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist with more than 14 years of experience, and I help people with depression, anxiety, and issues with addiction.
I'm speak three languages, English, Farsi, and Pashto.
Traveling throughout Europe and living in Asia and South America have enriched my understanding of the many ways our backgrounds, experiences, and life stories shape who we are. These experiences have taught me to approach each person with an open heart, genuine curiosity, and compassion for their unique journey. I bring this understanding into every session, honoring each person’s story and meeting them where they are.
Clients often describe me as thoughtful, caring, creative, and reliable, with a calm and steady presence.
I take a relaxed approach to therapy, and you lead the way. In our first session, we'll start with a quick hello and get to know each other. Then we'll talk about a few of the challenges you're facing. I'll ask open questions and listen closely so I can understand what matters most to you. There is no pressure to have everything figured out. Sometimes it takes a few sessions to understand what is really going on, which is usual and perfectly okay.
