LMFT, 17 years of experience
I help people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other mental disorders. I help them further develop their mindfulness, assertive communication skills, and capacity for love & respect for themselves, and, consequently, the rest of the world. I don't merely believe in therapy, I know first-hand the beneficial power it can provide. Before seeking mental health services for myself, I not only suffered from low self-esteem, I also experienced severe panic attacks. I am, and forever will be, grateful each and every day that those symptoms now only exist in my past. These are just a few of the reasons why mental health is by far my greatest passion in life.
Our first session will, of course, involve the building of rapport. I will discuss my approach to mental health and provide some encouragements that seem to correspond with emotional intelligence. Next, I will inquire as to what brings you to therapy and what goals you would like to work towards. We will get to know one another at least a significant amount. If desired by the client and time permits, we can explore your childhood and relationship you had with your parents.
My greatest strengths are my passion and empathy. I do not believe you will not find a therapist more passionate about helping others improve their mental health and reduce their suffering. The desire to reduce the suffering of others came from the realization that the suffering I had endured was not experienced only by me. In actuality, the suffering caused by mental illness is (to varying extents) collectively experienced by all. A distant third would be my experience. I graduated with my Master's degree in Psychology in 2008 and have been working as a therapist ever since.
If you are currently struggling with self-love, I can guide you in that direction. Sending love to yourself is a skill...an exceedingly beneficial and important one at that. If you are motivated to reduce your suffering and thus elevate your quality of life, look no further... I can help. The overall goal is to further develop your sense of autonomy, which involves the deepening of your relationship, with yourself. This can only be done through self-love and understanding. You have taken an important first step today. It would be my privilege to further assist you in your mental health journey.
I have extensive training and experience in CBT as well as TFCBT and my approach incorporates the Cognitive Triad, which involves the correlation between our thoughts, feelings, and behavior. I encourage my clients to take responsibility of their thoughts, feelings, and behavior and make an effort to include Positivity, Mindfulness, and Assertiveness when assessing their own thoughts, feelings, and behavior.
