LCSW, 30 years of experience
New to Grow
Hello I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been practicing in the field of Social Work for over 30 years. I have worked with many different people from a variety of cultures. I have helped both children, adolescents and adults with various concerns from criminal behaviors, addiction, and serious mental illness. I have helped people change their behavior and thinking so they can reach their potential, achieve their goals and heal emotionally, spiritually, and physically.
the first session I focus on rapport building , getting to know the client and their expectations for therapy. Exploring what their goals are and the outcomes they are looking for. I generally complete a bio psycho social assessment along with a treatment plan.
I am a compassionate, client centered and solution based therapist who is interested in being a positive influence and an instrument for emotional healing. I am compassionate, empathic and supportive.
I serve people who are struggling with thinking or behavioral patterns that are impacting their emotional, physical and spiritual health. I have expertise working with those struggling with addiction or who have a criminal background or suffer from various mental health issues. For example depression, anxiety, relationship issues or communication. I am very strong and very adept in working with children, adolescents , and communication with parents. I am skilled in providing parenting skills.
Aspen Burnett offers therapy covered by Gold Coast Health Plan (Medi-Cal), L.A. Care Health Plan (Medi-Cal), Partnership HealthPlan of California (Medi-Cal) and San Francisco Health Plan (Medi-Cal) in California.
My theoretical background is CBT but I am an eclectic provider and will use modalities that are client centered and will help clients improve or decrease distressing symptoms. I have used CBT with clients who have anxiety, depression, and addiction issues to name a few. I help the client to identify behavioral patterns and their irrational thoughts to help them move towards desiring change and taking actions to change.
