Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based out of California. I received my Master's degree from the State University of New York, Albany and have been practicing for over 10 years. Most recently, I helped high-functioning adults work through anxiety, depression and chronic pain so that they can reach their full potential and live a balanced, happy and healthy life. As an engaged, solution-focused therapist, I provide insight and practical feedback for clients with an individualized approach. An important part of my therapy approach is to provide you with coping skills to navigate through life's struggles. We cannot eliminate the ups and downs of life, but we can become more well-equipped to navigate through it all. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can can gain tools and strategies to work through the pain and move forward into a space of confidence and self-trust.
In our first session together, we will begin to get to know each other and I will ask you to share what challenges bring you to therapy. Together, we will discuss what your treatment goals may look like as we move forward. I strongly believe that the foundation of the therapeutic process lies in building trust and understanding in the therapeutic relationship first and foremost.
Having a strong passion and background in healthy lifestyle coaching helps make my therapeutic approach unique. Throughout my extensive experience treating Anxiety, Depression and Chronic Pain I have seen first hand how incorporating healthy lifestyle coaching into my CBT and Mindfulness Based Therapy is effective in achieving individual therapy goals.
I love working with high functioning adults that are motivated to make change in their lifestyle and eager to reflect on all aspects of their life that may be contributing to their anxiety, depression and/or chronic pain. I am passionate about exploring lifestyle habits and I love working with clients that are open to exploring how their emotional and physical wellbeing are all interconnected.
I have been using CBT in my practice for 10+ years and have seen how it helps my clients better understand how their thoughts, feelings and behaviors are all connected. CBT has been very effective in helping clients identify and then challenge negative thought processes, in turn being able to build more positive thought patterns that reduce anxiety and depression.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy has been a treatment method that I have used for many years in my practice and among all difference age groups. It is a very effective method that helps build tolerance for all emotions in a non judgmental way. Together, we practice how to be in the present moment and utilize relaxation strategies to help experience and tolerate all emotions.
Mind-body approach is an essential component of my therapy method. Studies confirm that our physical and mental health are strongly intertwined. The state of our physical body directly effects our state of mind and in turn our emotional state is strongly associated with our physical well being. It is essential to address lifestyle habits; such as daily exercise, sleep habits, relaxation practices and basic nutritional needs when exploring emotional and mental health. Throughout my professional and personal experiences I have seen first-hand how healthy lifestyle habits positively impact the mind – body connection. I strongly believe that healthy lifestyle habits serve as a buffer when experiencing stressful life circumstances.
