I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. Originally from Taiwan, I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Columbia University. Over the course of my career, I have worked with a diverse range of individuals and communities, including children and families, adolescents, transitional-age youth, young adults, older adults, men, women, couples, LGBTQ+ individuals, and justice-involved populations. My clinical experience has provided me with a broad understanding of the unique challenges people face across different stages of life. I strive to create a respectful and supportive environment where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered to work toward meaningful change. In today's fast-paced world, many people find themselves overwhelmed by daily responsibilities and disconnected from what brings meaning and fulfillment to their lives. It is common to push aside difficult thoughts and emotions simply to get through the day. Over time, however, this can leave us feeling stuck, isolated, or uncertain about how to move forward. Whether you are navigating a major life transition, struggling in your relationships, seeking greater self-understanding, or simply looking for a safe space to process your experiences, therapy can provide valuable insight. My approach is empathic, collaborative, and solution-focused, while remaining grounded in genuine compassion and practical feedback. Together, we can explore the challenges you are facing, identify patterns that may be holding you back, build upon your strengths, and work toward meaningful, positive, and lasting change. If you are ready to take the next step, I invite you to schedule a session and begin the process of moving toward a more fulfilling, balanced, and authentic life.
Our first step is getting to know each other and developing an understanding of your individual needs, concerns, and expectations for therapy.
Establishing a sense of realness and true connection with my clients is one of the most important aspects of the therapeutic process. Once that foundation is built, you can expect me to provide thoughtful attention to your strengths, needs, challenges, and life experiences. My goal is to help you gain insight, process difficulties in a safe and supportive environment, and make clearer, more confident decisions as you navigate life's obstacles. By working collaboratively, we can build on your strengths, address barriers to growth, and move toward the changes that matter most to you.

When I share some parts of my life, Ellen finds a way to connect it to something I can understand and relate to. She brings up many good points about what I should be thinking and an outsiders perspective on my thoughts. She doesn't put down how I'm feeling and acknowledges how I could end up thinking that way. She brings up other topics and links it with the main issue and asks challenging questions that make me rethink my thoughts which I appreciate because I don't have anyone to ask me.
