I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the DC/Maryland/Virginia metro area with over 15 years of experience working as a therapist and life coach. My specialties are ADHD, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, and life stage transitions. My therapy style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach to therapy is client-centered, solution-focused, and strengths-based. Our sessions are your safe space for unpacking your thoughts and feelings, identifying life challenges, and learning new ways to manage them that will allow you to feel better and set you back on the road to achieving your life goals. I help clients identify and implement daily, practical self-care/positive well-being activities on their therapeutic journey. Everything you share in session is confidential. The only time I must break that promise is if you become a danger to yourself or others. I utilize a combination of various therapeutic models, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Client-Centered approaches in helping clients successfully reach their therapeutic goals. I also offer faith-based support upon request. I will tailor your treatment plan and sessions to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life. The fact that you are here means you are ready to take those first steps toward change. I would be honored to support and empower you to take your next steps. I look forward to working with you! What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Your therapy time is your safe space to unpack and process your thoughts and feelings, learn new ways to cope and hopefully feel strengthened to take on the next week. I believe that therapy sessions should be relaxed conversations as we identify the concerns creating the most stress or disruption in your life. I will conduct a brief assessment which is just a set questions to help me determine issues to be addressed. Then, we will work together to create a treatment plan with goals that you want to achieve. Each week, we will discuss progress, celebrate success, & find effective ways to cope. I will share strategies & interventions you can practice between sessions. I also like to give homework activities to help you remain focused and maintain the skills you've learned in session.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I utilize a combination of various therapeutic models, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Client-Centered approaches in helping clients successfully reach their therapeutic goals. I also offer faith-based support upon request. Since every person engages information differently, I provide homework activities, & monthly Newslinks with videos that address various aspects of mental health, offering strategies/interventions that build an 'Emotional Toolkit' for your future use. Additionally, I provide resources that raise awareness of other mental health issues. I share worksheets, access to ebooks and workbooks to give clients diversity in how they like to engage information.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have worked extensively with people struggling with Executive Function Disorder. Symptoms include difficulties in initiating tasks, focusing on tasks, sustained attention, time management, organization skills, and procrastination. Typically, clients with these challenges have not been diagnosed to address these issues which often leads to anxiety and depression. My approach is to provide compassionate support to clients who are neurodivergent, helping them create a strong support system that enables them to thrive in a neurotypical environment.
