Hi, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C). I graduated from University of Maryland, School of Social Work, with a master’s degree majoring in Children and Families. I have over fifteen years of social work experience and over eight years of clinical work. My greatest joy is to assist children, adults and couples struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues and life transitions, among others, to become better versions of themselves.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, we will begin with brief introductions and establish the foundation, including symptoms, challenges, expectations and goals, for our work together. This is very important as it will help you and I to develop a treatment plan that directs the course of our sessions and your journey to recovery.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My work with clients suffering from anxiety, depression, life-transitions as well as self-esteem issues over the past years have been very successful. This is because I will assist you with identifying underlying as well as root causes of your challenges and engage you in developing a treatment plan that is specific to your symptoms and that measures your progress. You will enjoy working with me because I am authentic, person-centered, culturally sensitive and believe in meeting people where they are in the journey of life. I am easy to connect with because I have a heart for people, am tenacious and passionate about helping others enhance their quality of life. My greatest joy is to help people navigate the challenges of life to become better versions of themselves.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with children, adults and couples struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues and life transitions, among others, to become better versions of themselves. I utilize the eclectic approach including psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapy to assist clients with identifying and understanding the root cause of their problems. This is because I believe in treating the cause and not just the symptoms.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have utilized CBT as a treatment modality in treatment for several years and it has been very successful in the treatment of anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues as well as other mental health diagnosis. I educate clients on the relationship as well as impact of thoughts on behavior and mood. Thus, by changing thoughts related to circumstances and or self, behavior and mood is changed for the better.

Christian Counseling

As a Christian and a therapist, I integrate psychological theories and techniques with client’s spiritual themes, at their request, and engage them in discussing their beliefs and values in their sessions. I utilize Biblical principles and spiritual resources to empower clients and improve their knowledge and understanding of their mental health struggles and provide hope to impact and promote a healthy recovery.

Supportive

By understanding the complexities of life, I realize the importance of providing support for people in various situations of life. Through supportive counseling, I affirm client's experiences through radical acceptance and help them understand that they are important by providing a safe, non-judgmental space for them to process their challenges and empower them to face the struggles and challenges of life.
