If you find that you are having difficulties with creating healthy relationships or you struggle with feeling overwhelmed, depressed, or anxious, I am here to help. I work with adults and older adolescents who seek to manage personal and interpersonal demands positively and effectively.

My professional background, faith and personal philosophy has lead me to believe whole-heartedly that each person is an expert on their circumstances.

In our work together, I aim to support you in developing strategies and skills that reduce burnout, foster a positive sense of self, and enhance your relationships with yourself and others. At its core, our work in this therapeutic journey is to help you become the version of yourself that you can be most pleased with.

First session

Our first session will be an honest and casual conversation about things that are meaningful to you. This is your space to discuss concerns, ideas, and to grow. Discuss some of the reasons you are seeking therapy and what you want to accomplish. I will learn about some of your challenges and how you have been managing them. Together we will make a plan for the time we are working together.

Strengths

My greatest strength is that I don't take myself too seriously. I see my role as a sounding board, a listener, and a coach and cheerleader as you unpack aspects of your life that you choose to improve. My professional background, faith and personal philosophy has lead me to believe whole-heartedly that each person is an expert on their circumstances. My role is to support in areas that you see as needing support and to be curious about your thoughts, feelings, and ideas.

Ideal clients

An ideal client is someone who has chosen therapy as a way to show up for themselves. Who believes that they can have more love, hope, and compassion in their life. Not just for everyone else, but for themselves. There may be aspects of your life that you want to improve. Or you're curious about how you ended up so far away from the life you had hoped for. It could even be the first time you have thought of what you need or want because you didn't know it was ok to consider yourself. I want you to know that this is a safe and gentle space to express your thoughts and feelings. Let's chat and see how I can be helpful.

Treatment methods

Humanistic

In my years of experience, working with clients from a humanistic perspective has helped them see their person's potential for growth and self-discovery. In sessions, we acknowledge the importance of the past by taking the time to explore how it impacts our current thoughts, feelings, and ideas. However, we also recognize that in the present, we have the power to do so much more than we could have imagined. Much of the work starts with self. Self-awareness, self-compassion, and self-acceptance lead to self-healing.

Faith-based therapy

Faith is often understood as trust in a higher power and the belief that things can and will improve for the better. This belief serves as the foundation for all therapeutic treatment. However, change does not occur solely through faith; it also requires effort and commitment. In my practice, I aim to adopt a holistic approach. Clients need to experience unconditional positive regard, compassion, and non-judgmental care. They should feel validated in expressing all aspects of themselves, without worrying about acceptance. Meditation, prayer, and reflection have proven to be valuable tools for both my clients and me. Most importantly, I have faith in my clients—faith that they can live authentic, peaceful, joyful lives and recover from the traumas and pains they have experienced. As a believer in Jesus Christ, I know the importance of kindness, compassion, and forgiveness. As a therapist, it is essential to me that I support my clients in expressing kindness, compassion, and forgiveness towards themselves. Teaching healthy boundaries, assertiveness, and validating feelings aids in the client's expression of self-love and internal harmony.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

What we think and how we think impacts every aspect of our lives. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is useful in helping clients see the intercon

Strength-Based

When I reflect of my work as a therapist and all the clients I have worked with in my career one thing has been consistent no matter race, gender, religion or creed- they all have had strengths that have allowed them to navigate life's challenges. Assisting the client in identifying strengths, examining the client's viewed personal strengths and support in uncovering and re-framing hidden strengths are just a few techniques I use to aid client's in growth in change from a strength-based perspective.

Olivia is so lively! She's very easy to talk to and funny! It was like I was talking to a big sister or favorite cousin.
