🔔 PSA: No new couples clients 🧭 // APPROACH Your holistic transformation starts now. Clients consistently praise my empathy, perceptiveness, practical guidance, and measurable improvements they experience, with one noting: "Tim is empathetic and encouraging. I'm on session 7 seeing improvements. 10/10." Therapy should feel like a cozy tea-time chat in your living room, creating a safe space where intimacy and authentic connection flourish naturally. I bring a holistic, modern approach rooted in CBT, narrative therapy, and trauma-informed care, supporting individuals through dating, marriage, or healing from the past. I tailor my approach to your unique story, helping you find peace, reconnect, and build lasting relationships, whether you're feeling distant, unheard, or weighed down by the past. 🙏 // GRACE POLICY Please respect my 15-minute wait policy. Sessions don't always start exactly on time due to back-to-back appointments. More than likely, I will be in the waiting room once you join, in a session, transitioning the prior client with grace, before I prepare for you. As clients can be a few minutes late without issue, practitioners deserve similar grace. 🧘🏽‍♀️ // SERVICE & CARE BOUNDARIES I DO NOT provide docs (e.g., dr. notes, signatures, letters) for lawsuits, legal cases, work accommodations, emotional support animals, or leave requests, this includes FMLA, unemployment, lawsuits, etc. If that's a need, i'm not your fit. Furthermore, I don't tolerate any disrespect or intentional and malicious transference towards me in session. I am here to process your bad days and equip you with the perspective, tools, and frameworks to navigate them, not receive the brunt of them. I will abruptly stop a session in which I feel threatened, disrespected, or abused and report the client to Growth Therapy (or law enforcement). My work is my livelihood and passion. I will protect it and myself.

Hi, I’m Maritza! I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas and the owner of Rooted & Renewed Counseling PLLC. I’ve worked in the mental health field for over 10 years and have experience serving a variety of populations including crisis response, Christian counseling, parenting, marriage and couples, undocumented minors, domestic violence, and in-patient psychiatric facilities. Fun fact: Rooted & Renewed Counseling is an assignment; I was minding my business working my regular full time gig & God decided to call me back to Christian counseling—this time focused specifically on serving women. Talk about a plot twist! I’m grateful for the opportunity to blend clinical interventions and biblical truth, because it’s 1000% okay to love Jesus and have a therapist. P.S. if you have questions about your faith—or you’re feeling angry at, disappointed with, or disconnected from God—you’re welcome here too! My approach to counseling is holistic and authentic. Show me the screenshots. Tell me the things you’ve never said out loud. Bring all the thoughts, worries, and struggles that take up space in your mind and heart. I’ll meet you with compassion, humor, clinical expertise, biblical truth, and gentle challenges along the way. I help women who are experiencing: Life Transitions * Young adulthood * Career changes * Marriage * Pregnancy and motherhood * Caring for aging parents Relationship & Family Concerns * Marriage/Premarital * Divorce and separation * Parenting challenges * Family boundaries * People-pleasing Emotional & Mental Health * Anxiety * Depression * Stress * Grief * Low self-worth * Emotional regulation Work & Achievement-Related Concerns * Work-life balance * Career stress * Burnout Faith & Personal Growth * Finding purpose * Boundaries * Resting * Growing in Faith It would be an honor to walk alongside you in this season of your life. “Pain insists upon being attended to. God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our consciences, but shouts in our pains. It is his megaphone to rouse a deaf world.” — C.S. Lewis. I believe we all have the ability to heal and transform our lives - and we all have a unique path to get us there. Let’s discover your deepest truths together so that your heart and mind may be renewed and you might live more abundantly. If you're willing to do some work, I will work hard to create a safe space for you, and we can collaborate on this journey together. I have Master's degrees in Counseling and Religious Studies, so I can incorporate spiritual guidance into counseling if you would like(completely optional). I also have training in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) and worked previously as a hospital chaplain which was an incredible experience. However, I'm proud to say that I have formed wonderful relationships with clients of all bends, and even of no particular faith background. I have respect for all faiths and traditions as long as they are life-giving. "You shall know [Your] truth, and it shall set you free."

I'm Kemi, a Licensed Professional Counselor who believes real change starts with feeling truly heard. Since middle school, I've been the person others turn to for encouragement, so becoming a therapist felt less like a career change and more like coming home to it. I bring warmth, honesty, and a steady presence into every session, paired with clinical training in CBT, Internal Family Systems, and culturally responsive care. My goal isn't to hand you a script — it's to help you see your own strength clearly enough to use it.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a passion for helping individuals navigate the lasting effects of childhood wounds, anxiety, and life's most challenging transitions. My work is rooted in the belief that true healing begins when people feel genuinely heard, respected, and safe enough to be vulnerable. I bring a warm, direct, and collaborative presence to the therapeutic relationship. My approach blends evidence-based practices — including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and self-compassion frameworks — with a deep respect for each client's cultural background, lived experience, and unique story. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. Instead, I meet clients where they are and tailor my approach to what they actually need. Much of my work centers on helping clients understand how early experiences — such as emotional neglect, conditional love, abandonment, and shame — continue to shape their thoughts, emotions, and relationships in adulthood. I also have a dedicated focus on men's mental health, providing a space where men can move beyond cultural expectations of silence and strength to reconnect with their emotional lives in meaningful ways. My background includes working with individuals recovering from addiction and those rebuilding their lives after significant hardship. These experiences have deepened my belief in human resilience and the capacity for growth at any stage of life. In our work together, I aim to help you build self-awareness, develop practical emotional regulation skills, and cultivate a healthier relationship with yourself and others. My goal is not just symptom relief — it is lasting, meaningful change that reflects who you truly are and who you are becoming.

Hi, I'm Esther. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Daring Way Trained Facilitator. I've been providing counseling to individuals for almost 6 years. Prior to that, I worked in the education sector for almost 10 years, which deeply sparked my interest in pursuing mental health work. To me, counseling sessions are like writing a story. It is a process that involves brainstorming, creating drafts, and making revisions until your story feels whole and complete. Imagine you are the writer. You have all the pieces of your story within you already. Think of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors as those pieces. Sometimes, they don’t make any sense, it’s overwhelming, and you don’t know where to begin. I view my role as someone who is with you to guide you through the process and help organize those very thoughts, feelings, and behaviors with you. During our time together, it is my hope that you develop the skills to ultimately write your story on your own. Your story may include experiencing cycles of depression, anxiety, grief, past trauma, struggles of worthiness and belonging, the complexities of being a part of an immigrant family, generational trauma, a combination of these things, or perhaps something entirely different. Everyone's mental health journey is different. I’m here to meet you where you are. I also want to acknowledge how scary it can be when taking a leap of faith into a new therapeutic journey. It takes a lot of courage. More than anything, it’s important to me that you feel safe and the stories you share are handled with utmost care.

Hello! I bring 17 years of mental health experience along for your sessions. I have been in private practice since January of 2023. I consider myself a generalist and I'm happy to help you with any need or concern that you might have. Some of the areas where I have the most experience are depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and grief and loss. I have spent the majority of my career working in a University setting and have helped many college-age adults make meaningful changes. I have also worked in behavioral health clinics and have experience working with clients that have been legally referred to therapy. I work with almost all age groups however, I typically do not work with persons under the age of 18. If you are a minor, please have your guardian consult with me before scheduling an intake and I will consider your need and my areas of expertise and help you determine our next steps. I am also no longer able to accommodate couples therapy. If you are seeking a couples therapy session I will be happy to assist you with a referral. At this time, I am unable to assist with FMLA paperwork.

Hello! My name is Lauren and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, licensed in Texas. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Sam Houston State University. I have over 9 years of experience in working with mental health and substance use concerns. I have worked with individuals ages four to adult with a variety of mental health/behavioral presenting issues such as: addictions, anxiety, depression, trauma, phase-of-life problems, relationship and family issues, career challenges, and many more. I have also worked with many clients who have experienced physical trauma, psychological or emotional abuse. My experience is varied and across a wide array of settings, as I have provided individual and group therapy in community mental health agencies, inpatient and outpatient behavioral health hospitals, transitional living programs, and schools. I have provided crisis intervention services in the community setting as part of a crisis intervention response team. Prior to my work as a therapist, I was a teacher and coach. Mental health is a journey, and while you may feel lost now, that is not an indication of how your life will continue. It takes courage to identify that there may be steps to take in order to strive for a more fulfilling and happier life, and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and encourage you. Wherever you're at on your journey, I am willing to meet you there and support you in reaching your desired destination. I look forward to working with you!

Do you feel like you've lost your way, your purpose and identity, or just need to get back on track? Hello! My name is Erie, and I'd love to help you. Social workers typically have an interesting life story and personal experiences with tragedy that tug at our heartstrings. I am no different. At times, I wonder "how is it that I have survived these mountains and valleys?" Despite personal tragedy, loss, and despair, influential people have served as beacons of hope throughout the years in my life. Along with my re-creation of self through school, internships, and certifications, I have learned one basic human tenant that would be my guiding light through the most challenging of times: people need people. I realize that this sounds a bit rudimentary, but this is the cornerstone of social work and the secret to my success in beating the statistical odds that accompany a survivor of childhood abuse, drug addiction and alcoholism, military combat trauma, and the loss of a child. So, the question stands: why am I here and what do I want? I simply want to pay it forward as many have done for me. I would have never expected to be where I am or doing what I'm doing. I personally believe that there is hope and light in the most desperate, dark places and recesses of the human soul. For that reason, I bet on the underdog, society's undeserving, and those with whom all other plans have failed. I find that my reward and inner satisfaction comes with doing for others when all else has failed and all others have given up. For this reason, I will keep doing for others, because they are worth it.

Hello, my name is Sofiely M. Franco, LPC, LMHC. I’m a therapist who shows up as my full, real self. Clients often tell me they feel seen, heard, and understood in a way they haven’t experienced before. I keep things simple, but we go deep. My style is honest, grounded, and real. I provide therapeutic support for individuals navigating depression, anxiety, and trauma. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to begin, you don’t have to face it alone. I believe therapy should feel like a safe and steady space where you can slow down, breathe, and begin to heal. My background shaped my strength, my compassion, and my heart for this work. I know what it’s like to navigate hard environments and still carry big dreams. I believe you can honor where you come from while also creating growth and change in your life. My approach is laid-back and personal. I aim to create a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable being yourself. I value cultural humility and believe your background, identity, and lived experiences matter deeply.

I specialize in brief collaborative therapy where we look at current issues, how you cope, how you learned the coping skills and alternatives solutions. We will look at your self-care including spirituality and how to improve your self care if needed. Weekly assignment tasks related to your short term goals will be agreed upon. We will work together to learn and understand where you are now and how the past has impacted you. Engaging in therapy can be anxiety provoking, exciting and freeing. If you are willing to work on our mutually agreed upon assignment between our counseling sessions, you will find we make progress. I worked in criminal justice prior to being licensed in Michigan where I grew up and studied. Upon moving to Chicagoland, I worked 10 years with a crisis response team and an employee assistance program. This is where I learned to develop skills to drill down into client issues and work with the client to reduce discomfort and improve coping skills. Our counseling sessions did not last beyond 6-8 meetings. I moved to Texas in 2003 and since then have continued to work on crisis teams and with military members/spouses on installations. My practice has been focused on supporting couples communications; life transitions including grief/loss, career transitions, parenting skills and integrating/applying client's spiritual practice into every day life. Clients describe me as safe to talk with about difficult topics; active and contributing to the dialog; creative in opening up behavioral and cognitive options.

Hello Friend! Welcome to my practice, Pragmatic Solutions Therapy, PLLC! I am an experienced psychotherapist with over 20 years. I've worked in private practice and in the clinical hospital setting and now own my own thriving practice. I have passion, dedication and ethical standards I uphold with every client. My basic mantra in life is simple: Drop the baggage and take the value. Step out of the box and if you can't change the problem, then change the way you see it with a different perspective. Everyone at one point or another in life may experience a host of unbearable stressors which may leave one feeling stressed or 'out of sorts'. We may even describe that feeling as 'lost in a web of frustration', or even anxiousness, fatigue, sadness; as if our unique threshold is completely depleted. Feeling anxious is normal. Feeling stressed is actually a sense of determination to gain back control, though, with temporary tiredness. Anxiousness is innate in all of us. What's not healthy is when stressors cross the threshold to what feels comfortable, interrupts our daily habits/responsibilities to 'fix things' and leaves us in solitude. I’ll help you navigate the web of confusion to find empowerment. My journey began as a young child whose home was a host of struggles. I have personal insight into what we all experience. Inspired by a helper, I became a psychotherapist, worked in clinical setting, garnered a vast amount of knowledge which helps me to specialize using various modalities of treatment. As a psychotherapist, I hold a high standard for myself and clients, which includes helping those dealing w/depression, grief, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, chronic health and other issues. Together, we'll identify what's not working, find solutions you may use to form goals without rescripting your life. Respectfully, Monica Pina

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in central Texas. I believe that we are all beings who want healing in all aspects of our life: physical, emotional, social and spiritual. The differences between the emotional health we have and the health we want can create tension between our current situation and our self image and power. Often, we don't know how to make lasting changes. That change struggle can be too difficult to face without strong support and the realization someone understands, supports and affirms your ability to learn new coping skills. My counseling approach is educational, and we begin with where you are emotionally now. I value treating everyone with respect and kindness. We move at your pace. I will assign homework if you want to move more quickly.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Texas. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Texas from Houston to Austin! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Texas.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
