New clients continue care with this provider

Hello! I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas. (You don't have to be married to see me. That's just what the license is called!) I have an MA in Family Therapy which means I am passionate about seeing people as part of the system in which they live, love and work in. I see couples, families and individuals who are struggling to feel connected, cared for and appreciated in their relationships.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session will provide time for brief introductions, your reasons for coming to therapy and your hopes and how I might be able to help you. We will discuss some expectations for therapy and start to develop some goals and plans for future sessions and I'll answer any questions you may have.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have helped couples/families create greater connection by recognizing their differences, external stressors, and emotional sensitivities which when not understood can lead to conflict and miscommunication.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Most of my clients are in relationships that are at the point of unraveling due to infidelity or due to the long-term effects of depression, anxiety, trauma, or PTSD on the relationship. Others are dealing with parenting problems or are overwhelmed with taking care of a partner with a chronic illness. It's a very uncomfortable time when tensions and feelings are high and life is feeling out of control. It's a time when working with a therapist can help you move out of what feels like a negative downward spiral.

My treatment methods

Couples Counseling

As a Licensed Couples and Family Therapist, I help couples create the meaningful connections that they crave by helping them feel heard and appreciated for who they are. When we don't feel connected to our partner, we can have deep seated feelings of rejection and abandonment which can tear us apart and instead we want to use our feelings to draw us toward each other to create stronger connections.

Family Therapy

Families comes in all shapes, sizes, ages, colors and configurations and are as diverse as is our society today and the problems they face our just as diverse. Whether you are a family with small children or adult children with elderly parents, family therapists are trained to help navigate life's transitions and teach effective strategies to provide healthy and nurturing environments for all stages of human growth and development.

Attachment-based

As an attachment theory-based clinician, I believe we all crave connection to other human beings. When we don't feel heard or understood by those around us, we can have feelings of abandonment, rejection or even being unworthy of love. Trauma of all types at any time in our life can amplify these feelings of being unable to trust those we wish to be closest to. Using an attachment-based focused works on bringing helping people move towards each in good and difficult times.
