Hi, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor based in San Antonio, Texas. After practicing general medicine for 25 years in Mexico, I received my family and individual therapy degree from Our Lady of the Lake University. I felt the necessity of finding the link between physical and mental health, and I work with individuals and families ready to turn their problems around and start living better lives.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session will be about getting to know each other, determining whether I am a good fit for your needs, and reviewing what you want to accomplish in therapy. It is also a vital session to set goals and a timeline for the change you are expecting. Most of the time, the clients want a "quick fix" or have concerns about therapy's effectiveness. This session will resolve all the questions about the therapeutic process.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have learned to listen deeply to my clients' challenges during my ten years of practice. I work at the rhythm of my client; I never pressure the change but allow the person to take steps to secure a permanent improvement.

My treatment methods

Family Therapy

My experience in the field of family therapy is of 10 years.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Ten years of experience with SFBT and Narrative. We help clients identify the main source of distress and find the skills and abilities to solve the actual problem and future challenges.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT because it is an excellent interventional method to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression disorders. It is problem-focused and action-oriented to eliminate maladaptive behaviors. I help the client to find strategies and make their goals possible.

Narrative

One of the priorities in narrative therapy is working with clients on their meaningful stories and relationships with their family, gender, culture, etc., and helping them interpret them according to the context in which they are living, with a focus on a successful balance. I have used Narrative Therapy, and the results have been favorable in helping the client overcome emotional disturbances that have affected their lives for a long time.
