About
Welcome to my profile. As an LPC licensed in the state of Texas I am committed to helping Texans work towards living their best lives. Having personally experienced trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and starting over, I can empathize and walk side-by-side with you moving forward. You are not alone.
Having personally experienced trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and starting over, I can empathize and walk side-by-side with you moving forward.
Each day we are given new opportunities and challenges. My work focuses on encouraging you and helping you recognize all the forces that impact your environment. From there, we can discover many tools that you can use to build healthier relationships, balance your life and find the inner strength to work towards achieving your personal goals. You have taken a great first step. I believe in you.
First session
Our first session will be focused on getting to know each other and determining the goals you would like to achieve through therapy. From there, our sessions will delve into what may be keeping you from reaching those goals, focusing on those things that bring you strength and determining the next steps to help you achieve your goals. It is my personal goal that at the end of every session you leave in a better place than where you began.
Strengths
My areas of strength include having empathy for people and the trials we endure through our life experiences. Being an optimist, I earnestly believe in people and their abilities to overcome adversity. In building the therapeutic relationship I am relateable, honest and trustworthy. Having strong observation and listening skills I confirm with clients what I see and hear as truth and validity are essential to therapy.
Ideal clients
My ideal clients are one's that are not only ready and willing to put in work, and a lot of times - homework, but those that are ready to challenge their thinking, explore other perspectives and dive in. Therapy can be hard work, it can touch on issues you might not want to explore, but through hard work there is change.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
After learning about the various theories one can use in therapy I landed on focusing on CBT. Although I will pull from other theories as necessary, I believe all clients have the ability to alter the thoughts that get us "hung-up" and can bring our lives to a halt. So together we will examine the thoughts and beliefs we hold so you can live your best life.
