I am Dr. Tammara Lewis, owner of Mariposa Awakening Therapy Services and Clinical Director at Marriage and Family Services in Plantation, FL. I'm a board-certified Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas. I’m also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional – Level II (CCTP-II) and a Solution-Focused Coach. I hold a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling (2009) and a Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy (2025), both from Nova Southeastern University. I bring over 10 years of experience supporting individuals and families in community, court-ordered, and private practice.

During the initial session, we will explore your background and discuss what brought you to therapy. I provide a supportive space to foster healing, growth, and change, with the option to share only what feels comfortable. Using an integrative approach, therapy sessions will be tailored to your specific needs as well as your goals for therapy.

Having worked a diverse population of clients, I possess the experience, insight, and skills to assist clients with identifying and unraveling the root cause of their issues.

I have experience working with individuals, couples, and families addressing an array of clinical issues: anxiety, family/relational issues, grief/loss, IPV/DV, PTSD, and trauma to mood disorders and life transitions. Also, as a military veteran, I draw on my experience and understanding when working with veterans and their families.
