New to Grow
Welcome! I'm glad you're here. I believe therapy is most effective when it feels like a genuine partnership built on trust, respect, and connection. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable being yourself, without fear of judgment, and where you feel heard, valued, and supported. I understand that our life experiences and personal stories shape the way we see ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us. Sometimes those experiences can leave us feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward. I believe it's okay to accept where you are today while also recognizing that growth and change are possible. Therapy isn't about having all the answers; it's about working together to better understand your experiences and develop the tools to help you move toward the life you want. My approach is collaborative and tailored to your individual needs. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while building practical coping skills, emotional resilience, and confidence in navigating life's challenges. Whether you're seeking support for yourself or your child, my hope is that therapy becomes a place where you feel understood, empowered, and supported throughout the process. Taking the first step can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to do it alone. I'm here to meet you where you are and walk alongside you as you work toward meaningful and lasting change.
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you've never worked with a therapist before. It is completely normal to feel unsure, nervous, or not know where to begin. Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another, begin building trust, and talk about what brings you to therapy. During our first meeting, we'll discuss what has been going on in your life, what led you to seek support, what you hope to gain from therapy, and what goals feel important to you. You do not have to have everything figured out or share everything right away. Building a trusting therapeutic relationship takes time, and we'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Together, we'll explore what you would like to work on and identify areas where therapy can be most helpful. Sometimes what initially brings someone to therapy changes as we begin to understand their experiences more deeply, and that's a normal part of the process. After our first session, future sessions will typically begin with checking in about how things have been since we last met, discussing any changes or challenges, and revisiting what feels most important to focus on that day. You can expect therapy to be a space where you feel heard, respected, and supported. I encourage you to ask questions, share your thoughts about what is or isn't working, and be an active part of the process. Therapy is a journey, and we will work together to create a plan that feels meaningful and helpful for you.
My approach to therapy is shaped not only by my professional training but also by my own life experiences. Before becoming a therapist, I served in the military and worked in healthcare, where I witnessed people navigating stress, trauma, loss, and life's unexpected challenges. Those experiences reinforced something I continue to believe today: every person has a story, and understanding that story is often just as important as understanding the symptoms. Like many people, I also know what it's feels like to believe you should "just move on" or handle things on your own. Through my own experiences, I learned that healing isn't about ignoring what you've been through, it's about understanding how those experiences may still influence the way you think, feel, and respond today. That perspective helps me approach every client with empathy, curiosity, and respect rather than assumptions or judgment. I don't believe therapy is one-size-fits-all. Some clients prefer a therapist who mostly listens and helps them discover their own answers, while others appreciate more direct feedback, practical suggestions, and gentle challenges. My role is to adapt my approach to what works best for you. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing practical skills they can apply outside of therapy. Above all, I want therapy to feel like a partnership. I welcome feedback, encourage open communication, and want you to feel comfortable telling me if something isn't working or if you'd like to try a different approach. I believe meaningful change happens when clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to take an active role in their own growth.
My ideal client is someone who is ready to better understand themselves, recognize patterns that may be impacting their emotions or daily life, and develop practical skills to create positive change. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, and emotional regulation challenges. Therapy is a place where you can accept where you are today while also working toward the changes you want to make.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in a practical and individualized way based on each client's needs. Together, we explore the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while identifying patterns that may be impacting daily life. My goal is to help clients develop practical coping skills, improve emotional awareness, and learn new ways to respond to life's challenges. Therapy is a collaborative process, and we will work together to find strategies that feel realistic and meaningful for you.
I incorporate Solution-Focused Therapy by helping clients identify their strengths, recognize what is already working, and focus on realistic steps toward their goals. Rather than only focusing on problems, we explore what changes you would like to see and the small steps that can help you move forward. Together, we will build on your existing abilities and experiences to create meaningful and achievable progress.
