“Pain insists upon being attended to. God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our consciences, but shouts in our pains. It is his megaphone to rouse a deaf world.” — C.S. Lewis. I believe we all have the ability to heal and transform our lives - and we all have a unique path to get us there. Let’s discover your deepest truths together so that your heart and mind may be renewed and you might live more abundantly. If you're willing to do some work, I will work hard to create a safe space for you, and we can collaborate on this journey together. I have Master's degrees in Counseling and Religious Studies, so I can incorporate spiritual guidance into counseling if you would like(completely optional). I also have training in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) and worked previously as a hospital chaplain which was an incredible experience. However, I'm proud to say that I have formed wonderful relationships with clients of all bends, and even of no particular faith background. I have respect for all faiths and traditions as long as they are life-giving. "You shall know [Your] truth, and it shall set you free."

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and reside in Texas, I am also licensed in Colorado, Florida, Utah, South Carolina, and Vermont. I specialize in helping you identify and overcome issues that hinder your day-to-day enjoyment of life and/or interfere with progress towards goals you have set. In over thirty years of private practice counseling I have learned to meet clients’ needs not only with continued education and research but also through a multitude of life experiences. I enjoy working with a diverse range of clients and have found that humor when utilized in an appropriate way and time can be very beneficial. I believe trust is a fundamental element in any relationship. This trust has to be developed and nurtured to remain genuine. Through trust other aspects important to the relationship can prosper such as comfort in being open, sincerity, and a willingness to change. I find that humor when utilized in an appropriate way and time can be very beneficial. I am a life-long Texan, however, I have traveled extensively and embraced many different cultures and location specific issues. Through all of life’s changes I have learned that, even with the best of plans, things still do not always work out the way we would like. I have experienced many of the same issues as my clients so can relate to them on a personal basis. This has also allowed me to acquire an understanding of what clients may be going through even if I have not experienced the exact situation. Through any adversity there is no reason to feel alone.

Trauma hurts. It can be sudden, life-altering and overwhelming, or chronic, subtle and nearly unnoticeable, but either way it can change the way we think about others, the world, and unfortunately, ourselves. Dealing with the aftermath—changes in our relationships, lashing out toward self or others, feeling nothing and/or everything all at once—is sometimes as hard as the initial event, especially when society, friends and family and our own minds tell us to “just get over it.” Worse, sometimes we aren’t even sure where the trauma came from in the first place, leaving us confused and even feeling hopeless. If you could just “get over it,” you would, but sometimes the brain simply cannot process traumatic events without help, and this is why trauma therapy exists. :) I'm an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) in Texas. I've been in practice for nearly 15 years and have been doing EMDR therapy for 13 of those. I specialize in helping teens and adults process trauma of all kinds. My goal is to help my clients gain the skills needed to process and adapt to traumatic memories, and then allow them to do so in a safe environment. I teach them how to build boundaries and follow through, and to treat themselves with self-compassion rather than judgment and harsh expectations. Trauma doesn’t have to ruin (or run) your life. If you’re hurting, please know I’d be happy to help in any way I can.

Welcome! I am Licensed Professional counselor and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with resilience and hope. With a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University, I bring both expertise and warmth to my practice. My journey into counseling was shaped by my commitment to empowering those at risk. I completed my practicum and internship in an Intensive Outpatient /Partial Hospitalization (IOP/PHP) treatment center, where I worked with individuals facing significant mental health challenges. That experience taught me the value of meeting people where they are and supporting them in finding their inner strength. I specialize in trauma-informed care, and individualized treatment planning. My approach integrates evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) with a personalized touch, always aiming to make therapy a safe, collaborative, and even uplifting experience. Beyond my professional credentials, I’m someone who believes in the healing power of humor and the magic of connection. When I’m not in session, you might find me diving into a good book, exploring creative pursuits, or advocating for mental health awareness in the community. If you’re looking for a therapist who brings both professional expertise and a friendly, down-to-earth vibe, you’ve found the right person. Let’s work together to bring balance, healing, and a little bit of laughter back into your life!

Hi, I’m Carrie Rimato, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist serving clients in the Greater Houston area, including Katy, Texas. My professional journey began in education—I earned my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Houston Christian University (formerly HBU) and spent over a decade teaching in both public and private schools. My passion for helping others grow eventually led me to pursue a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from The King’s University, which I completed in 2018. Since then, I’ve worked with individuals, couples, and families across various settings, including private practice, hospitals, and crisis centers. I take an eclectic, client-centered approach to therapy—drawing from EMDR, CBT, mindfulness, and family systems theory—to provide personalized care tailored to each person’s unique needs and goals. Whether you're working through anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, or relationship issues, my goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel supported, empowered, and heard. Outside the therapy room, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends, watching a good movie, and traveling to any beach I can find—my favorite place to relax and recharge.
