Hannah Anokye
I am a licensed therapist specializing in supporting trauma survivors, and individual’s experiencing low self esteem, anxiety, depression, life transitions and relationship challenges. My experience working with Veterans, children, families and diverse populations has shaped my compassionate and client- centered approach. I am passionate about helping you heal from past experiences, build confidence, strengthen resilience and create healthier, more fulfilling lives. First Session In our first session, my focus is on getting to knowing you- what brings you to therapy, what you are hoping to gain from our work together, and what may have felt difficult or painful lately. I’ll ask gentle questions to better understand your experiences, your history, your strengths and the goal you have for therapy- where you want your life to be, a month, six months, a year from now. Then we’ll identify options and strategies you can use to get there. You will leave the session with a better understanding of what you are facing and I can help you begin making sense of your experiences, recognizing your strengths, and identifying the next steps toward healing. There is no pressure to share anything you are not ready to discuss. We will begin building a foundation of trust and understanding and develop a collaborative plan for our work together. Most importantly we will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
First session
What we talk about is confidential, with a few legal exceptions. Those exceptions include situations where there is concern about your immediate safety or the safety of someone else, or if I’m required to share information by law. If anything like that ever comes up, I’ll talk with you about it whenever possible.
Strengths
My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and holistic. I believe every person has inherent strengths and the capacity for growth, even during life’s most difficult seasons. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor therapy to each individual’s unique needs, values, culture, and goals. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I use an eclectic approach, drawing from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Strengths-Based Therapy, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness techniques. This flexibility allows me to meet clients where they are and use the interventions that are most helpful for their specific circumstances. I respect each person’s beliefs and create a therapeutic environment that is inclusive, culturally responsive, and free of judgment. What sets me apart is my ability to combine clinical expertise with genuine empathy and practical problem-solving. I strive to build strong therapeutic relationships where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered.
Ideal clients
As a therapist, I welcome clients from all backgrounds. For those who desire it, I thoughtfully integrate my core values into therapy through compassion, empathy, while always respecting each client’s beliefs, values, and treatment goals. I work best with clients who value collaboration, are open to self-reflection, and are willing to actively participate in the therapeutic process. Whether someone is seeking healing, clarity, resilience, or personal growth, my goal is to provide a compassionate, supportive, and empowering environment where they can thrive.
Treatment methods
Integrative
My treatment approach is grounded in evidence-based clinical practice and informed by my values of compassion, grace, hope, and respect for the inherent dignity of every person. I use integrative therapy , tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs, goals, and preferences. My clinical methods include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Strengths-Based Therapy, trauma-informed care, mindfulness, psychoeducation, and person-centered therapy. These approaches help clients develop healthier thought patterns, improve emotional regulation, strengthen coping skills, and build resilience.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and change unhelpful thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that may be contributing to their challenges. Together, we explore negative thinking patterns, develop healthier perspectives, and practice practical coping skills that promote emotional well-being, resilience, and lasting positive change. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals.
Interpersonal
I use interpersonal therapy to help clients relieve psychological distress, by linking current symptoms to relationship challenges and building concrete communication skills to resolve them.
