I hold a Master of Arts Degree from Edinboro University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have been in practice for the past eight years in a variety of settings. These settings include working for a hospital at their inpatient hospital-based twelve-step drug and alcohol unit/program. In addition, I have had the oppurtinorty to work in public schools as a school-based counselor covering six schools working with students in grades k-12, Other areas of practice experience include working with individuals, groups, families, couples, children, teens, young adults, adults, and older adults. I am an experienced therapist, licensed in the state of Pennsylvania since 2018. I have a passion for working with people from all different backgrounds, cultures, lifestyles, and ethnicity. I remain open-minded to whatever the client's needs are and tailor therapy techniques and approaches to best fit the client's needs. While meeting with each client, I try to imagine what it must be like to be this person and to experience all of the things they have gone through and are going through. I find myself able to connect with each one of my clients on a personal level to give every individual the same respect, dignity, understanding, empathy, compassion, and time, a person deserves while actively listening to what the client is saying verbally and non-verbally. I am always learning new information, and therapy techniques, and growing my skills while increasing my abilities and knowledge in the mental health field and applying this knowledge to my everyday practice. Each of my clients teaches me something new and in turn, I utilize this knowledge gained to grow both personally, spiritually, and professionally and enrich myself as a therapist. I recognize it takes courage to engage in the process of therapy. I appreciate your motivation and will work respectfully with you to create a positive, collaborative, therapeutic relationship. The focus of my practice is helping people to overcome and understand issues that impact their quality of life. I feel it is essential to understand the person as a whole by having a clear picture including mind, body, and spirit, to start the healing process to grow. I provide a safe judgment-free space where my clients can feel comfortable discussing the issues they wish to resolve or find difficult to deal with. I have found the process of developing a therapeutic relationship to be profound and fundamentally important to facilitating growth and change. I am ready to assist you in these stages of change and help you to reach your goals. I am looking forward to joining you on your journey! Congratulations on deciding to take the first step in the exploration of and investment in yourself! *

I am a full-time school counselor, but work part-time as a therapist. Prior to becoming a school counselor, I worked in the mental health field for over 15 years in multiple roles. I enjoy helping adolescents and young adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns to identify strategies that allow them to manage and/or overcome these concerns. I tend to use an eclectic mix of person-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy when working with clients. I also have been trained in mindfulness to assist my clients. I also understand the difficulties one might face related to the current societal climate as it relates to LGBTQ+ population and race. I believe it is important for clients to have a safe space to share the microaggressions, discrimination, and/or hate that one may face. I believe that I can be that safe space for all individuals. In my free-time, I am enjoy spending time with my family. During this time, we like to do things outdoors, such as playing pickleball, hiking, paddleboarding, or just relaxing.

Hi there! I am a big sports fan who loves spending time with family, sharing laughter, and enjoying great food. Music and outdoor activities are two of my favorite things. I’m always eager to learn something new and love starting my days early. Helping others reach their full potential and witnessing those ah-ha moments truly inspires me. You’ll often catch me embarrassing my family with my corny dad jokes or dance moves. I’ve worked in a variety of therapeutic settings as a school counselor, acute therapist, and suicide prevention therapist. My lifelong motto is, "do your best so you can give your best."

I am a compassionate and dedicated therapist with over 30 years of experience in guiding individuals through life’s most challenging moments, including struggles with depression, anxiety, grief, anger management, family conflicts, and developing coping skills. I am deeply committed to empowering clients through a culturally and spiritually integrated approach that centers around the Alternative Christ-Like African Thematic Therapy (ACLATT) model. ACLATT is a unique therapeutic model I developed specifically to support Christian clients of African descent. It integrates Christian values with African principles, providing a holistic, culturally sensitive healing experience. This approach emphasizes identity, love, faith, and hope, helping clients recognize their God-given potential and fostering a strong sense of purpose. I also incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, supporting them in reframing perspectives and developing practical coping strategies. My work is rooted in the belief that “Being precedes Doing”—by understanding one’s identity in Christ, clients are empowered to realize their gifts and purpose, which enriches their actions and overall well-being. Whether working with individuals, families, or couples, I am committed to helping clients achieve emotional healing, spiritual growth, and lasting transformation aligned with their cultural and spiritual values.

Hi! Since 1991, I have worked with individuals across outpatient and inpatient settings, in homes and schools, and now through telehealth. I have assisted people with a variety of challenges--whether related to depression, anxiety and stress, panic, obsessions and compulsions, trauma. behavioral control, self-esteem, substance use, life transition, and other issues. I believe in "possibilities thinking", goal setting, active strategizing, and frequent accounting of progress. As a long-term therapist, therapist and program supervisor, and college psychology professor, I am well acquainted with many therapeutic approaches; however, I am somewhat partial to cognitive-behavioral therapy, relaxation and mindfulness, and solution-focused treatment. I am also formally EMDR-trained, which can be a very helpful tool for trauma. There are many therapy options and providers--whomever you select, I wish you the best. Remember--it’s your life, your journey … make the most of it! Sincerely, Rick NOTE: My current availability will typically be on Sunday mornings, select weekday evenings at 7 or 8 pm, various times on Fridays, and also per arrangement. NOTE: I am accepting ONLY adults, ages 18 to 64 years. NOTE: I am offering only 1:1/individual therapy (no direct family or couples' sessions). NOTE: I do not engage in any court-ordered treatment. NOTE: I am interested in conducting therapy, not doing work-mandated, IEP, or other (e.g., Disability, Drug & Alcohol, or Mental Competency) evaluations. Hi, I'm a therapist with over thirty years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families and historically getting positive results. I tend to work with families with special members such as teens and seniors. I have always worked with teens as it seemed to be a population others found difficult, but I liked the challenge. Now that I am a senior, I better understand the needs of our demographic. I tend to utilize a Family Systems approach which sees the individual in a family context as the majority has grown up in some form of family, whether related by blood or not. I've also taught Marriage and Family Therapy through what is now Drexel University's Family Therapy Program and have offered professional Supervision as a Clinical Member and Approved Supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. By working with the client in a collaborative, goal setting manner, faster more positive results seem to be achieved.

I have helped both individuals and couples work through challenges of all varieties stemming from many different and unique issues. I help clients work through their challenges by helping them to identify practical solutions, barriers, and strengths that lead them to being able to solve their particular issue(s). I love using Solution-Focused and Cognitive-Behavioral therapies to get individuals and couples past the obstacles standing in their way so they can lead productive and fulfilling lives. You have made the right choice seeking out therapy. Most find therapy to be enjoyable and an opportunity for personal growth. It can feel good to just 'let it out' or 'get it off of your chest.' Sometimes just having someone to listen and understand can make a big difference! I look forward to working with you and to walking with you on your journey and to helping you through your difficult time.

Hi there! I'm a compassionate therapist dedicated to helping you move toward a healthier, more hopeful future. My own early life experiences have shaped my passion for supporting others, giving me a deep understanding of the challenges children, teens, and families face—especially around conflict, abuse, isolation, and rejection. As well as the long lasting effects these have on adults that did not have the opportunity to address them sooner.

Life transitions, relationships in flux, maybe you haven't felt like yourself recently. Navigating hard emotions that keep you up a night, or preoccupy thinking, might be holding you back from enjoying activities and relationships you once did. Reasons for seeking therapy are unique and individual to you. You are deserving of a therapist who will build a space for you to be vulnerable with your story and emotions. Together, we can build a path forward through empathetic processing, acceptance, skill building, and goal planning. Therapy is like a compass, it doesn't provide all the answers, but it provides direction. Focusing on your strengths, presenting problem, and future goals, our time together will be spent targeting false thoughts, realizing potential, and building trust in yourself.

I am a psychotherapist who works with a diverse population of people. My goal is to collaborate with individuals to assist them in achieving their therapy goal(S). My treatment modalities are cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, and Ericksonian hypnotherapy approaches. Although I used these modalities, I do not use a one size fits all approach. I am a think-out-of-the-box clinician that will often challenge clients to try approaches that may be out of their comfort zone. Some examples of my experience include working with individual clients on developing skills in coping with mental health conditions/diagnosis, life stress, finding balance, and improving self-esteem. Although I use these approaches, my clients tell me it feels like we are having a conversation as opposed to feeling like they are in a therapy session. I have a specialization in working with Veterans, LGBTQI, men, and people of color populations. However, I work with all people who are seeking mental health services. I am licensed in DC (LICSW), VA (LCSW), MD (LCSW-C), and PA (LCSW). I have BS in Human Ecology, BA in Humanities from The Ohio State University, MSW from San Jose State University and Post Masters fellowship in mental health from Stanford University.

I have worked in the treatment since i was 36 and have 38 years of experience. My early experience was in the drug and alcohol and relapse prevention field. During that time i attended the Gestalt Institute in Cleveland, Ohio where I took 4 years of intense training. This lead me to find that therapy is not a method for me to figure out the client but a means for the client to gain greater self-awareness in facing their own life aspirations and struggles. I place focus on clients’ somatic awareness, especially breath, so being more in their body so they can try on new physical and intellectual styles in facing their world. I have a lot of knowledge about what is called the 12 step process and have melded together spirituality and religion in my own life. Prior to being a counselor/ therapist i taught school, painted steel bridges and other structures, and was a machinist at a large steel company, that like the many in our area have since closed their shops.

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with 18 years of experience supporting children, teens, adults, and older adults. I’ve worked in a wide range of mental health settings—including inpatient and outpatient programs, schools, juvenile detention, family-based services, universities, prisons, and private practice—which has given me a deep understanding of how mental health needs evolve across the lifespan. After seeing how limited access to care was in rural Pennsylvania, I became an early advocate for telemental health. Today, I offer both virtual and in-person counseling, giving clients the flexibility to choose what feels most comfortable and accessible for them. Starting my own practice during the pandemic allowed me to create a healthier work-life balance while dedicating my full attention to providing compassionate, high-quality care. My goal is to meet you where you are, help you feel understood, and support you in building the tools you need to move forward with confidence and peace.

Are you feeling depressed or anxious? Struggling to make sense of your relationships? Let me help! Hello, I’m Mike McInerney, a part-time private therapist for adults. I have been counseling adults and families for more than 20 years. Maybe you found me searching for online counseling services or maybe you were referred here by a friend or family member. First and foremost, I wish you well. Life is full of challenges and we could all use a little help. Currently, I am open to working with a small handful of clients online on Mondays/Tuesdays. My approach is inviting, and warm, and I use humor if/when appropriate. Working with a therapist should be tailored to meet your needs. Some people need a safe, confidential space to explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Other people prefer a more solution-focused approach. Working together, we will figure out what is best for you. Please feel free to contact me. (Responses are typically in 48hrs)
