About me

Hi! I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Pennsylvania. I received my master’s degree in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling from Messiah University. I began my counseling career in 2018 as an addictions counselor, where I gained valuable experience supporting individuals through a variety of challenges. After graduating with my master’s degree in 2021, I transitioned to working with individuals, couples, and families. I work with clients who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship or family challenges, life transitions, and other stressors. My goal is to provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard and understood while exploring the challenges you are facing. It is my honor to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships, develop healthy coping skills, and work toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our initial session, we will begin with brief introductions and take time to get to know each other. We will explore the concerns and challenges that brought you to therapy, discuss your goals, and identify areas where you would like support. Together, we will develop a personalized plan for treatment that fits your needs and helps you move toward meaningful change. This first session provides the foundation for our work together and allows me to create a tailored approach for our follow-up sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am an experienced and empathetic therapist who provides services to individuals, couples, and families navigating a variety of challenges, including relationship struggles, anxiety, depression, parent-child difficulties, co-parenting concerns, ADHD, trauma, and PTSD. My background in both addiction counseling and marriage, couple, and family counseling has given me experience working with a wide range of concerns and family dynamics. I take a collaborative, individualized approach to therapy, recognizing that every client and family has different needs, experiences, and goals. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where clients feel comfortable being open and honest.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who may be struggling with depression, ADHD, marriage challenges, relationship or co-parenting challenges, difficulty adjusting to life changes, or simply feeling overwhelmed and stressed. They may be looking for support, guidance, and practical tools to better understand themselves, navigate challenges, improve their relationships, and work toward meaningful change. Starting therapy can feel overwhelming or intimidating, and taking that first step is an important part of the healing process. I strive to provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and comfortable being themselves while working toward their goals and building healthier coping skills.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

My approach to attachment-based therapy focuses on understanding and strengthening the relationships and connections that are important in your life. I work with individuals, couples, and families to explore how past experiences and relationship patterns may impact current interactions. When working with families, I focus on helping strengthen the connection between caregivers and children, improve communication, build trust, and create healthier and more secure relationships.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. CBT was an important part of my graduate education and clinical training, and I find it especially helpful for clients who feel stuck in negative thought or behavior patterns. Together, we identify unhelpful or negative thinking patterns and explore how these thoughts may influence emotions and behaviors. The goal is to help clients develop healthier, more balanced ways of thinking, which can lead to more positive behaviors and improved emotional well-being. I work collaboratively with clients to develop practical skills they can use both in and outside of therapy.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

My person-centered approach focuses on creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and accepted. I believe clients are the experts in their own experiences, and my role is to provide support, guidance, and encouragement as they work toward their goals. I work collaboratively with each client to understand their individual needs, strengths, experiences, and goals rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. I strive to build a trusting therapeutic relationship where clients feel comfortable being open and honest. Through empathy, active listening, and genuine support, I help clients gain greater self-awareness, build confidence, and develop the tools they need to create meaningful and lasting change.

It’s real easy to open up and talk with Abby. I feel comfortable and safe. She listens, I don’t feel judged, she asks me questions that help me better figure out where an issue is stemming from. Her questions help me articulate what I’m trying to say or explain. I look forward to our sessions.
