First session

In the first session we will explore your challenges and goals together. I look at therapy as a collaborative process. We will work together to help you find clarity and focus on solutions.

Strengths

I value exploring all aspects of a person's life including how past experiences influence present circumstances, resolving inner conflicts and helping clients achieve their hopes and dreams. I emphasize the mind-body connection including how our thoughts influence our physical health and overall wellness. I utilize various therapeutic approaches and modalities depending upon the client's needs including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and mindfulness, solution focused, attachment theory, psychodynamic and humanistic approaches and positive psychology.

Ideal clients

I have considerable experience working with all ages. I really enjoy working with teens and adults. My areas of expertise include coping with anxiety, depression, loss and grief, struggling with self-esteem and identity issues including LGBTQ challenges and concerns, transitions and life stressors, single adulthood, dating and relationship challenges, managing conflict, coping with challenges of having ADHD and/or Autism (ASD), attachment styles and coping with and healing from trauma and narcissistic abuse.

Treatment methods

Integrative

I utilize an integrative approach to therapy which involves looking at each individual's unique qualities, strengths and challenges and combining ideas and techniques from different therapeutic approaches to address each person's needs in the best manner possible. I emphasize a holistic approach which recognizes the importance of the interconnectedness between a person's physical, emotional and psychological well-being. I apply different methods depending on the client's needs including attachment- based therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (CBT), Gottman method, solution-focused work, mindfulness and somatic techniques and trauma-informed approaches.

She listened to every concern I had and I felt like I was being listened to. Therapy can be nerve wracking but she made it easy to open up. I plan to continue my therapy with her.
