Hi there, I am Elizabeth Cohane, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience helping teens and adults. I am passionate about helping my clients break through the barriers that keep them feeling stuck, while empowering them to make the changes that will allow them to experience more freedom from the thoughts and feelings that can hold us back at times.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session will include me learning about what brought you to therapy and learning more about your childhood, as I believe childhood is where things begin. From there, and with more knowledge about who you are and what is currently taking place, we will develop action steps to reduce the stress and anxiety of handling daily life tasks while managing current situations and emotions. Our work together will be about finding a sense of calm while moving through the feelings / circumstances that brought you to therapy.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I tailor my approach to meet individual needs. My primary goal as a provider is to create a safe and welcoming space for you to share your thoughts and feelings. I understand that beginning therapy can be both exciting and a little scary. With sensitivity, compassion and respect; I am committed to meeting you where you are, as we embark on a journey towards mental and emotional freedom for you.

I specialize in working with individuals struggling with (but not limited to) life transitions, self-esteem issues, anxiety, depression, healing from past traumas and those experiencing relationship issues. With a wide range of clinical experience, serving diverse populations, I provide a safe and judgment-free therapeutic experience. Whether our journey together is for a short time or is more long term, I will meet you where you are, mentally and emotionally; and we will work together to help you meet your personal goals. You can expect to feel validated and supported as we identify goals that are feasible, and specific to your needs and move at a pace that is comfortable to you.

Instantly felt like I could share everything with her. Didn't feel the need to hide anything or like I would be judged for anything I said. She has such an empowering presence and she really made me feel heard and seen and supported. I felt like her energy matched mine which made it really easy to talk to her. She was amazing at helping guide the flow of the session which is so helpful when you're feeling overwhelmed and don't know where to start. She is like a life raft when you're drowning.
