Hi, my name is Meagan. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor(LPC) based in Pennsylvania. I received my Masters from Holy Family University and I have been practicing for 8 years. I have worked with children, teens, and adults in various settings such as individual, couples, family, and group therapy. Now I work with the adult population on many different concerns whether that be life style changes, anxiety, or depression.
I work with my clients on creating goals and how I may help them reach those goals.
I bring a relaxed non-judgmental approach to therapy as well as the knowledge and experience working with many different types of goals/concerns. I also love to teach various techniques to help support clients with their goals.
We cannot always control situations that happen in our life, but we can learn how to change our perspective therefore it can change our emotions. I teach techniques that will help with altering our view points.
Mindfulness is a great tool to help us feel grounded and focused on the here and now rather than the past and/or future. There are many different variations on mindfulness that I like to explore with clients so they can pick what best fits with their lifestyle.
Everyone has different strengths even if they are hard to identify. I try to help client's discover what they are and encourage them to utilize those strengths to help reach their goals.
Active listening, validation, and encouragement are all very important for a therapist to bring into each and every session. Clients should feel safe and not judged so they are able to express and explore their feelings.
