I am an autistic therapist, which is important to mention as my communication style may differ from what you are accustomed to. I am very direct and honest, and my guidance is grounded in research and the lived experiences of other clients. My therapeutic approach is centered on helping you define your current purpose. I employ a client-centered approach, cognitive behavioral techniques, and existentialism to ensure you feel heard, seen, and valued. Together, we will embark on a journey of self-discovery and personal growth. I am pleased that you are here, and I look forward to working with you. I began my education in research psychology before entering counseling. Now, I am a Community Counselor. I have spent my time as a therapist side by side with people in their homes, in their schools, at their workplace, and out in the community. I have worked with people on the Autism Spectrum, with ADHD, depression, mood disorders, and end of life issues. My approach to helping has always been to help you define your current purpose. I utilize a client-centered approach, cognitive behavioralism, and existentialism. I want you to feel heard, seen, and feel that you are important. We will work together to help you on a journey to discover yourself. I am glad you are here and I look forward to working with you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our initial meeting will be focused on getting to know you and understanding your reasons for seeking therapy. We'll explore your goals and discuss how I can best support you on your journey.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a neurodivergent individual myself, I have a deep understanding of the nuances of neurodiverse thinking. This enables me to connect with my clients on a personal level and offer effective strategies for navigating their experiences.

My treatment methods

Adlerian

In my practice, I integrate Adlerian therapy principles to empower clients in understanding and navigating their personal challenges. One of the key aspects of Adlerian therapy that I emphasize is the concept of separation of tasks. This therapeutic technique allows clients to distinguish between what is within their control and what is not, fostering a sense of personal responsibility and autonomy. Additionally, I utilize Adlerian concepts related to values to assist clients in aligning their actions with their core beliefs. By exploring their values, clients gain insight into what truly matters to them, which can inform their decision-making and enhance their motivation for change. I often use reflective questioning and guided discussions to help clients articulate their values and assess how closely their current behaviors align with these values.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I primarily use CBT to help my clients develop mindfulness skills and identify cognitive distortions. By teaching them to be more present and aware of their thoughts, they can better recognize and challenge negative thinking patterns. This enables them to develop healthier coping mechanisms and improve their overall well-being.

Existential

I employ existential therapy to guide my clients toward greater self-awareness and personal responsibility. By exploring existential themes such as meaning, freedom, and mortality, I help them understand their unique circumstances and make informed choices about their lives. This empowers them to take ownership of their paths and create a life that is authentic and fulfilling.
