Hello, I am a licensed professional counselor and a board certified art therapist. I have been practicing for just over five years and I received my masters degree in art therapy from Cedar Crest College in Allentown, PA. I help clients with various needs such as anxiety, life transitions, ADHD, relationships, communication and coping skills to help become the best versions of themselves. I started my journey at KidsPeace Children's Hospital as an art therapist for a couple years, running group and individual therapy sessions. After KidsPeace I transitioned to St. Luke's Hospital in Quakertown as a therapist running group therapy sessions. Talk therapy is the most common method of therapy on this platform, but be aware that if you do have any interest in art therapy, we can certainly incorporate that into our work together whether that be during our sessions or for homework. The choice is yours!

Parents of children with special needs are often misunderstood, and for over a decade I have been their advocates in the healthcare industry. I have over seventeen years of experience in various aspects of mental health, and for the last decade has been helping parents of children with special needs. I have a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. I am also the parent of four children with special needs. With a work history including residential treatment, outpatient, and community based mental health, I bring a wealth of clinical knowledge to my profession. The number one indicator of successful therapy is therapeutic rapport. Since the relationship between therapist and client is so vital I begin the therapeutic process with it. I want to work with you to build a personal connection conducive for healing. Therapy is a journey where you are in the drivers seat, yet never alone; it is a team effort. I want you to leave every session with the knowledge and desire to try newly learned skills and techniques between sessions. Everyone deserves a place to feel heard and valued, and while I have recently focused on families with special needs children, my many years in the field of mental health has made me a wealth of knowledge for anyone looking for assistance in making positive changes. Let me help you get back to the joy of parenting and living in general. It is time to take care of you so you can take care of yourself and/or those you love.

In addition I have a post-graduate certificate in Addiction Studies. Fulfilling our potential is a lifelong journey of becoming more at peace with ourselves, deepening the intimacy in our relationships, being more authentically human, and feeling more alive each day. Along the way, certain challenges arise to cause us distress or confusion. Such moments can make us feel held back, afraid, or unsure of where to go from here. But these moments can also be the points of growth and healing from which we renew ourselves in ways we did not think possible. It is a great privilege helping men and women in their search to improve their relationship with themselves and others, to lessen the burden of emotional pain, to experience freedom from addictions, or to embark on new life challenges - to find the hope and courage needed to take those important next steps.

Hi, I'm a therapist with over thirty years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families and historically getting positive results. I tend to work with families with special members such as teens and seniors. I have always worked with teens as it seemed to be a population others found difficult, but I liked the challenge. Now that I am a senior, I better understand the needs of our demographic. I tend to utilize a Family Systems approach which sees the individual in a family context as the majority has grown up in some form of family, whether related by blood or not. I've also taught Marriage and Family Therapy through what is now Drexel University's Family Therapy Program and have offered professional Supervision as a Clinical Member and Approved Supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. By working with the client in a collaborative, goal setting manner, faster more positive results seem to be achieved.

I see therapy as a unique opportunity for people to learn more about themselves: their pain, fears, struggles, strengths, hopes, and dreams. In doing so, we can work to overcome past pains and progress towards the life you have always wanted. I am committed to working with individuals as they take this journey of discovery and change. I seek to form authentic relationships with clients in order to create a comfortable and safe environment. I practice from a psychodynamic perspective. This means that I will work with you to understand how your past influences your present. This can only be done in a non-judgmental and welcoming environment in which you feel secure and accepted. I currently offer individual sessions via telehealth. Please do not hesitate to contact me to schedule a free consultation to see if we are a good fit. I am the mother to 2 grown children and a grandmother. I was married for over 40 years prior to my husband passing, I now share my house with a Golden Retriever. I went back to school later in life, and like to encourage others to do the same if possible. My first experience in this field came when I got a job at a county mental health/developmental services program as a receptionist. I was motivated by all the great work that the caseworkers were doing to improve their clients lives. I went back to school to finish my Bachelors and finally received a Masters in Social work. I retired from the county program as a Casework Supervisor, I felt that my position was becoming more administrative, and I was missing the connections I had made with my clients. At that time I felt it was time to work on what my original goal was which was to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I did work for 5 years with children with behavioral issues in school and in their homes. My previous position was in a small practice in rural PA, where I learned the importance of being eclectic in my treatment approach because every clent and their situation is different , and they deserve to have a treatment plan specifically targeted to their situation

Hi. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Pennsylvania. I have a PhD in Educational Psychology and a Masters degree in Music Therapy. I also got a certification in Gestalt therapy by going to a 3 year training program. Over my career I have worked with many different populations and in many different settings. My basic approach to therapy is to use the tools and techniques that I've developed to help people become unstuck and to grow and to reach toward their full potential.

Hello, I am a Licensed Professional Counsellor (LPC) based in Pennsylvania. I received my Masters Degree in Community Counseling from the University of Slippery Rock, Pa and I have continued to practice within the use of cognitive based therapy for over 20 years. I assist adolescents to adults with managing symptoms and negative thinking patterns associated with depression, anxiety and intrusive thoughts which remain a barrier towards your desired outcomes. I specialize in decreasing thought distortions that lead to anxiety and teaching coping skills to assist in managing anxiety symptoms as they present. I work most often from a strength based approach in supporting clients as they learn to identify and challenge thoughts and experiences driving depressive symptoms.

Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I strive to create a nonjudgmental, open space for clients to explore and process experiences, identify areas for growth, and make necessary changes. My journey as a counselor started in community mental health in 2019. I transitioned to private practice where I obtained my license and became trained in EMDR therapy. Through my career, I have gained experience with sexuality and gender identity exploration, substance use disorders, mood disorders, relationship difficulties, anxiety, and depression.

I have worked in the treatment since i was 36 and have 35 years of experience. My early experience was in the drug and alcohol and relapse prevention field. During that time i attended the Gestalt Institute in Cleveland, Ohio where I took 4 years of intense training. This lead me to find that therapy is not a method for me to figure out the client but a means for the client to gain greater self-awareness in facing their own life aspirations and struggles. I place focus on clients’ somatic awareness, especially breath, so being more in their body so they can try on new physical and intellectual styles in facing their world. I have a lot of knowledge about what is called the 12 step process and have melded together spirituality and religion in my own life. Prior to being a counselor/ therapist i taught school, painted steel bridges and other structures, and was a machinist at a large steel company, that like the many in our area have since closed their shops.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Pennsylvania rather than a city like Philadelphia?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Pennsylvania from Pittsburgh to Scranton! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Pennsylvania.

Will my therapist take Amerihealth Administrators?

Yes! If you use Amerihealth Administrators you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have Amerihealth Administrators you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I'm" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
