I’m Jessica Johnson, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor for over a decade. I also enjoy nature, animals, hiking, traveling, reading, and spending time with family.
Are you feeling tired, overwhelmed, or stretched too thin? Maybe you’ve been carrying too much for too long—showing up for others while putting your own needs aside. You might find yourself saying yes when you want to say no, or feeling pulled in different directions, unsure how to move forward. Perhaps you’re navigating difficult relationships, caregiving responsibilities, or a season of life that feels heavier than expected.
You don’t have to do it alone.
I offer a gentle, supportive space where you can slow down, breathe, and be yourself. Together, we’ll explore what’s weighing on you and reconnect with your strengths.
With over 25 years of experience, I’ve worked with children, adolescents, and adults facing trauma, emotional dysregulation, chronic stress, self-harm, and adoption-related concerns. Today, I focus on helping adults build resilience, develop healthier coping strategies, and experience meaningful growth.
I hold a Ph.D. in Social Welfare from Case Western Reserve University and am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervisory designation in Ohio. I also teach full-time at Case Western Reserve University, staying closely connected to current research and evidence-based practices.
I provide individual therapy and enjoy working with adults who are ready to understand themselves more deeply, shift old patterns, and move toward greater balance.

My passion as a professional clinical counselor is to walk with you as you navigate through life's obstacles and regain your sense of control. My goal is to assist you in defining your goals and collaborate with you to develop a plan to realize them. Hi, I'm Mary Kastner, a Licensed Independent Social Worker with 40 years of experience helping children, adults, and families navigate life's challenges. I provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore concerns, build confidence, and develop practical tools for lasting change. My approach is personalized to each individual and focuses on helping clients recognize their strengths, heal from difficult experiences, and move toward the life they want to create.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for ten years now. You will always know yourself better than I can or will.
From a philosophical and theoretical standpoint. I am overwhelming more of an attachment theorist, and have been known to use existentialism from time to time to help make sense of something. I guess the question that remains though is; can a butterfly flap it's wings in Brazil and cause a tornado in Kentucky, or are we all simply just products of our childhood and mirrors of our parents traumas?
The duality of life.
Attachment Theory vs. Chaos Theory. Both have value. I digress.
My goal is to provide a petridish in which you can explore your self. Safe. Contained. Yet completely in your control. The paradox being, you likely already have what you need. I'll sit with you while you find it. I can give you my clinical opinion, or diagnosis, and recommendations along the way as well if you'd like that. I can just sit and listen. I can play devils advocate. My job is to listen, empower, observe, and provide feedback when requested.
I draw from a blend of therapeutic approaches, professional experience, and life experience, grounded in compassion and a genuine desire to understand your story. My goal is to meet you exactly where you are.
Together, we will explore your path toward a deeper understanding of who you are and where you want to be. I believe our actions always make sense, even when they feel confusing or frustrating. By exploring the roots of unwanted patterns, we can begin to shift our responses and move toward a more peaceful and fulfilling life.
I also believe that each of us holds the answers within—we all have the capacity to grow and succeed. At times, having an impartial, supportive presence can make all the difference. That’s where I come in: to offer a nonjudgmental space and the tools to help you make sense of what feels unclear, and to support you in creating meaningful change.

My focus is on a variety of life issues that impede the unique potential of the individual. These include substance abuse and dependency, Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder, anxiety, depression, and trauma as well as major life events that happen to us all. I works with people from all walks of life including children, couples, and adults. Person centered counseling is not a platform on which one seeks advice or fears being judged, as if “under the microscope”. Rather it is a collaborative conversation based on unconditional positive regard, in which counselor and client journey together towards the client’s realization of meaning and goals.
I know how lonely it feels when emotions are overwhelming, relationships are tough, or family conflict leaves you stuck. I create a warm, non-judgmental space where you can truly be yourself.
Whether you want to build self-esteem, practice being assertive, navigate relationship issues, or deal with feeling misunderstood, I am here to help. I warmly welcome people from all backgrounds, including the LGBTQ+ community, neurodivergent individuals, and anyone who has struggled to find a therapist they can relate to.
We will work as a team to build stronger connections, break painful cycles, and create practical tools so you can live a more balanced, fulfilling life.
Hi there! I've been working and assisting clients for 18 years. That's a lot of anguish, sadness, hurt and anxiety I have helped people face and move forward into a world they want to live. I love meeting and working with people of all communities. This often includes clients focusing on mood disorders, self-esteem and anxiety. I also love working with people who are LGBTQGIA2S+. I have a casual and humorous approach, but don't let that fool you. I take my work with my clients very seriously and work hard to help them move out of pain, suffering and difficulty. The hope is that they are then able to realize, accept and take initiative to define and live out the life to which they aspire.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Indiana. I received my master's degree education from Purdue University Northwest. I have experience in working with a variety of issues including, but not limited to, mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, grief/loss, and adjustment disorders.
Outside of private practice, I work as a therapist in the schools and with non-profit agencies in the community.
