New to Grow
Hi there! My name is Megan and I have been an LPCC for 9 years. My areas of focus are anxiety, coping skills, life changes, fertility issues and women's issues. I am here to create a comfortable and calm environment for us to work at your pace to meet your treatment goals and to make the changes you are seeking. I am here to be supportive and listen without judgment. I am looking forward to working with you and supporting you on your journey!
During our first session together you can expect me to start working on building a therapeutic relationship and rapport. I will spend the first session getting a history from you and exploring what has brought you to therapy and what goals you would like to achieve. We will also explore what objectives we will use to help you reach your goals.
I specialize in working with women who are struggling with anxiety, life changes, finding a work/life balance and fertility issues. My approach blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy and Strengths-Based Therapy. I am here to listen, be supportive and reflective while we work at your pace.
I am best positioned to serve clients with anxiety who need to learn coping skills and identify the root of their anxiety. I have years of experience working with clients who are in any stage of grieving. I also have years of experience working with clients who are making life changes, need to find a better balance in life and women who are experiencing fertility issues.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have used Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for as long as I have been practicing. I use CBT to help clients identify challenging and negative thoughts patterns. Then, I help clients re-frame those negative or challenging thoughts by helping them to challenge habits and learn new skills.
Motivational Interviewing
I have used Motivational Interviewing (MI) for as long as I have been practicing. I use MI by engaging with clients through active listening and open-ended questions, working with clients to identify a specific issue they want to address, encouraging clients to identify their reason for wanting to make a change and creating a plan together to reach the client's goals.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I have used Mindfulness-Based Therapy for as long as I have been practicing. I use Mindfulness-Based Therapy by teaching clients skills to focus on their thoughts and feelings in the present moment. Then, helping clients to be able to step back and create space for their thoughts and feelings and respond to the thoughts and feelings with calm.
Strength-Based
I use Strength-Based Therapy to help clients identify what they naturally do well, re-frame what they do not naturally do well and apply their natural strengths to help them through challenges.
