About me

Hello! I’m Shaunté Rogers, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is one of the most important parts of counseling. Finding the right fit matters, and I understand how difficult it can be to open up when the connection does not feel safe, supportive, or genuine. My goal is to create a space that feels warm, receptive, and nonjudgmental—where you feel heard, accepted, and free to explore your own journey at your own pace.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I work with adults ages 18 and older, and my approach to therapy is collaborative and eclectic, meaning I tailor our work to your unique needs, experiences, and goals. I draw from person-centered, psychodynamic, and existential-humanistic approaches, and I am also trained in EMDR therapy. Together, we may explore patterns, relationships, life transitions, stress, anxiety, grief, trauma, identity concerns, or the places where you feel stuck or overwhelmed.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my strengths is my ability to meet clients where they are without judgment, while gently helping them examine patterns, beliefs, and experiences that may be keeping them stuck. I also bring patience, flexibility, cultural humility, and a calm, grounded presence, which allows me to support clients who may feel overwhelmed, uncertain, or disconnected from themselves.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with clients who are willing to be curious about themselves and reflective about their experiences, even when the process feels uncomfortable. My ideal client may be navigating depression, anxiety, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or a sense of disconnection from their authentic self. They may have spent years trying to meet societal, cultural, relational, or family expectations, only to realize those expectations have pulled them away from their own beliefs and values. In therapy, they are ready to feel empowered to examine those outside influences, reclaim their voice, and move toward a life that feels more aligned, honest, and self-directed.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Through CBT, I help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, understand how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact, and develop practical coping skills that support healthier responses.

Existential

I support clients in exploring meaning, identity, values, choice, and authenticity, especially when they feel disconnected from themselves or pressured by external expectations.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing allows me to meet clients with compassion and curiosity, helping them explore ambivalence, strengthen personal motivation, and move toward meaningful change at their own pace.

EMDR

When appropriate and within the client’s treatment plan, I also use EMDR to help clients process distressing memories, reduce emotional intensity connected to past experiences, and build a stronger sense of safety and internal stability.

Eclectic

I use an eclectic approach to tailor interventions to the individual rather than relying on one single method, combining evidence-based strategies in a way that feels collaborative and responsive.
