I provide evidence‑based therapy grounded in clinical assessment, trauma‑informed care, and culturally responsive practice. My approach is structured, collaborative, and focused on helping clients build insight, stability, and long‑term resilience. I am completing an APA‑accredited doctoral internship in a large integrated healthcare system, where I receive supervised training across trauma recovery, inpatient mental health, and neuropsychological assessment. This includes experience with Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), crisis stabilization, diagnostic clarification, and cognitive evaluations for conditions such as TBI, dementia, and complex medical presentations. My clinical work is informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and other evidence‑based approaches. I integrate structured assessment, clear case conceptualization, and practical skills to help clients navigate PTSD, anxiety, depression, identity concerns, and life transitions. I am committed to providing care that is compassionate, culturally aware, and grounded in respect for each client’s lived experience. My goal is to create a safe, steady therapeutic space where clients can explore their concerns, strengthen coping abilities, and move toward meaningful personal growth. A military Veteran himself, Dennis brings lived experience, humility, and a steady, supportive presence to his work. He has served Veterans and adults across multiple settings, emergency departments, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, and detoxification facilities. His approach is compassionate, structured, and culturally responsive, creating a safe and grounded space for healing and growth. Dennis integrates CBT, DBT skills, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, and relapse‑prevention approaches to help clients build insight, strengthen coping skills, and create meaningful, sustainable change. He is committed to helping clients move toward lives guided by clarity, resilience, and their personal values.

Looking through these many profiles can be difficult and draining. Thanks for being here. If you are struggling and unable to control your worries or feeling anxious and as if your stress never eases up, I hope we connect. Overthinking tomorrow and replaying yesterday can be exhausting for any of us and can honestly feel like where we live in our minds. Anxiety steals valuable time from us and can cause incredible distress. Depression also robs us of time, and if you live with grief and loss, the pain may feel overwhelming and never ending. I serve individuals in Wisconsin, North Carolina, and Virginia and have many years of experience working with clients suffering with anxiety, many of whom have endured trauma, loss, and live with grief. I enjoy assisting all adults and have worked with many wonderful individuals in addressing life challenges, changes, and transitions. I know it can be especially difficult and uncomfortable to reach out and ask for help when you are already overwhelmed with a situation. I will always strive to provide a safe space for you to talk about whatever concerns are important to you. Some concerns are very private. I respect this and offer a supportive environment which is always free from judgement. I appreciate your time and hope you find who you need in these profiles.

My name is Jessica Scales and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC # 10501) in North Carolina. I am also a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP). I have been counseling for over 13 years, with children, adolescents, and young adults (ages 18-30) being my specialty areas. I enjoy helping younger children make sense of the world around them and figure out how to navigate the big emotions they experience daily. With adolescents, I feel it is important to make them feel heard and have a safe space to process past or present trauma, peer-related issues, family stressors, and personal changes and emotions. For young adults, it is important for them to have a safe space to explore life transitions and the emotional and mental stressors or effects that may accompany these changes. I believe in working with each individual in a holistic way, considering all areas of their lives: emotional, physical, spiritual, familial support, personal, environmental, financial, and social. I utilize interventions based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing while incorporating play-based care, faith-based care, and Expressive Arts techniques. The counseling space is the space for individuals to feel safe, heard, and able to process any life circumstances, big or small, without judgment and with unconditional positive regard. I intend to create this safe space for healing and each individual's counseling journey.

Traumatic experiences are, unfortunately, far more common than many people realize—and their impact can linger in ways that affect how we think, feel, and relate to others. For 16 years I have specialized in helping individuals process and heal from various types of trauma, including interpersonal violence and sexual assault, childhood abuse, and religious trauma. I also provide support for those caring for loved ones with complex medical needs, recognizing the unique form of secondary trauma, chronic stress, and emotional exhaustion that caregiving can bring. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in trauma-informed therapy. I incorporate practical tools for nervous system regulation, emotional processing, and building resilience, while always honoring your pace and your story. You can expect a space where you are believed, respected, and supported. Healing is possible. Whether you are working through past trauma, navigating the challenges of caregiving, or trying to rebuild trust and stability, there is hope. I would be honored to walk alongside you- not as someone who has all the answers, but as someone who can help you make sense of what you’re feeling and move toward relief.

Hi, I'm Carrie! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and I work with teens, young adults, and adults navigating trauma, ADHD, anxiety, mood concerns, emotional regulation, relationship difficulties, and major life transitions. Many of my clients are thoughtful and self-aware people who understand what they *should* be doing but still find themselves struggling to change patterns that aren't working for them. My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I believe therapy should give you a safe place to be heard and understood, while also helping you gain new perspectives and develop tools you can actually use in your everyday life. Sometimes you need space to process; other times, you need someone who can gently challenge you or help you see something differently. I believe there is room for both. I believe that you are the expert on your life, and my role is to help you better understand yourself, recognize the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and build the skills and confidence to move toward the life you want. My name is Janet Muta and I am a Licensed Clinician with over 17 years of experience in mental health, behavioral issues and relationships. I treat individuals from diverse backgrounds. My approach is treating the whole person because most of the time our problems are the outcome of more than just one thing and when I get to know you I am able to address different issues that could be contributing to that one specific problem. We all experience some difficulties in our lives sometimes and we all cope differently. What works for one person/couple who are experiencing a similar situation may not work for another and so I personalize your treatment to fit you. Being in therapy is like being on a journey, I make sure you are in the driver’s seat and I become your great working GPS, guiding you to your desired destination. I also hold a degree in finance which sometimes comes handy when helping those who are stressed due to financial needs. Among the treatment modalities I use are: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Positive Parenting, Contingency Management...

Kudos to you for recognizing the need to focus on your overall well-being including your mental health. At the beginning of therapy many individuals often feel overwhelmed with various emotions, especially talking to a stranger about their concerns. I seek to make my clients feel welcomed and heard by working with them to identify past and present life events and the impact they have on their interactions internally and externally. I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore obstacles with concerns related to anxiety, depression, and/or self-care. I focus on helping clients develop assertive communication & boundaries with themselves and those around them that can help improve their quality of life. Counseling sets the stage for self-awareness, healing, grieving, feeling empowered which can lead to change and growth. What you allow will continue, and change is a personal choice. If you’re ready to challenge yourself and create the life you want, I look forward to working with you.

I have experienced loss, grief, life transitions, and family conflict, and I understand that sometimes even the strongest among us need support finding our way through difficult seasons. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, what I bring to the professional relationship is true life experiences, not just professional training, and a genuine understanding of how complex life can be. Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based out of North Carolina. I received my Masters degree from Arizona State University and have been practicing for over 10 years. I believe that working together in a safe, non-judgmental environment can create space for the healing you deserve. In my early career I worked with Child Protective Services to support the reunification of children with their biological parents. I then moved to North Carolina to continue work with keeping families together that had suffered trauma and/or behavioral issues. From there, I worked as an individual therapist working with teenagers and adults. During that time, I led groups that focused on education for women who experienced anxiety on a daily basis. Prior to the Grow Therapy platform, I worked to support adults in crisis who needed immediate psychiatric support.

Hi, my name is Luz, my pronouns are she/her/hers, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I worked as a teacher for over 15 years before making the journey into a community mental health career. I have experience in mobile crisis response, trauma, forensic mental health concerns. To explain who I am as a therapist, I reflect back to my role as an educator. In the classroom, there was a movement for the teacher to be less of a “sage on the stage” (teacher-centered approach) and more of a “guide on the side” (student-centered). To me, therapy is a lesson plan for a learning experience. It's a guide to develop what the client needs to learn in order to cope with whatever barriers are showing up in the client's life, whether that barrier is an internal issue, such as self-image, or how to cope with work stress. My therapeutic perspective is to provide empathetic, non-judgmental, compassionate guidance and support in an atmosphere of respect and safety while allowing clients to be the experts of their lives, much like “a co-pilot, a sous chef, or an assistant manager” of a client-therapist relationship. I use solution-focused elements to help move toward desired goals, cognitive behavioral techniques to challenge unhelpful thoughts, and motivational interviewing to help gain understanding and clarity. Outside of traditional therapy, I enjoy the practices of mindfulness, guided meditation, aromatherapy, and Reiki. Finding a therapist that's the right fit can be a challenging task, but taking that first step towards a healthier you is worth it. I look forward to working with you to help break down those barriers and make progress in areas that most matter to you.

Hi there, I am Jen. Do you want to improve the quality of your life? Do you want to make long-lasting changes that improve areas of your life such as work and relationships? I empower clients to overcome the daily challenges of dealing with such issues as depression (or other mood disorders), anxiety, PTSD/Trauma, and grief. I'm here to help clients (ages 10 & up) get back to a place in their life where they feel more balanced, secure and to a place where they feel happy with their overall quality of life. I do believe in a holistic approach that focuses on the mind-body-spirit connection. I utilize various techniques that include mindfulness, helping you identify and address irrational thoughts, motivational interviewing and more. I work with clients to identify treatment goals at their 1st appointment, if possible and I also like to assign therapeutic "homework" since this helps clients practice and eventually acquire the skills they need to feel better about themselves and their lives. No matter the issue, I'm here to help. Seeking therapy is a brave thing to do and I will provide a safe space to help you heal and grow. In our sessions, I will provide empathy, active listening and humor to help you overcome what is troubling you. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Hi, I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, burnout, grief, emotional overwhelm, and major life stressors. Many of my clients are people who are used to holding everything together for everyone else while quietly struggling themselves. They’re exhausted, overthinking everything, emotionally overwhelmed, stuck in survival mode, or feeling disconnected from who they used to be. My therapy style is warm, supportive, relatable, and direct. I’m not the therapist that just nods the entire session while you spiral alone. I believe therapy should be a safe space where you feel genuinely comfortable being honest — without fear of judgment — while also learning practical tools that help in real life. I use evidence-based approaches including CBT, trauma-informed therapy, mindfulness, emotional regulation skill building, and strengths-based interventions tailored to each client’s needs and goals. In therapy, we’ll work on understanding patterns, improving coping skills, processing difficult experiences, strengthening relationships, building self-worth, and helping you feel less emotionally weighed down by everything life keeps throwing your way. You don’t have to carry it all alone anymore.

Welcome — I’m John Dyson, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC), based in the foothills of North Carolina. I want you to take a moment to acknowledge that you’ve already taken the first step toward bettering your mental health. Let’s be honest — starting therapy can feel empowering, confusing, or even scary — sometimes all at once. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where you can explore concerns related to anxiety, depression, and self-care. I focus on helping clients build assertive communication skills and healthy boundaries, both with themselves and with others, in ways that support a more balanced, fulfilling life. Therapy is an opportunity for personal growth in whatever way you're seeking — whether that means navigating specific challenges or building the life you deeply deserve. If that’s what you’re looking for, I’m here when you’re ready. Together, we’ll clarify the challenges you’re facing and identify where you want to be — a month, six months, or a year from now. Then, we’ll explore actionable strategies to help you move forward. You'll leave each session with a clearer understanding of your situation and a set of “next steps” you can begin right away. There will always be space for feedback and collaboration in our work — including holding each other accountable as we walk this path together.
