Hi! My name is Tabitha. I have my own virtual private practice called Mindfully Me. I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) based in Florida. Prior to becoming a Mental Health Therapist I was a counselor for one of the largest school districts for 5 years. I help kids, teens, and young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, and trauma to become the best versions of themselves.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a great ability to listen. I am empathetic, enthusiastic, and I can motivate you to produce the needed changes. Life is dynamic, and crises are sometimes challenges to produce those changes in oneself and in our environment to grow. I am able to actively be with you on that journey. My tools are CBT (focused on the present) and EMDR, which helps us to reprocess and elaborate the past experiences, especially the traumatic ones, so that the present can be lived fully.

I have been working in the social work field in different areas for twenty years. I have dedicated most of my career to working with children and families. During my time working with families I conducted weekly parenting group sessions using a fifteen week evidence based program. At the beginning of my career, I was employed at Florida International University through a grant funded program that lasted three years serving clients that experienced domestic violence. I have been employed in Miami Dade County public schools for seventeen years. In the school system I worked for three years conducting HIV and STD education for students in an at risk high school, worked for nine years as a school counselor and currently, I provide services families with special needs. I have been employed part-time at a psychiatric hospital for eight years, conducting group sessions, baker acts, individual sessions, family meetings and completing treatment plans.

In my 25+ years as psychotherapist I have a profound respect for the vast human experience and the resilience of the human spirit.
