Welcome and thank you for expressing interest in my services! I’m Chris, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over a decade of experience supporting adults through life’s most overwhelming challenges. I know how hard it can feel to take the first step toward therapy whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or long-standing patterns that no longer serve you. If you’re here, you’ve already shown courage by exploring support and I’m glad you’re taking that step. I believe therapy works best when we build mutual trust and understanding. In our work together, I’ll listen deeply to your story, help you make sense of what’s been holding you back, and collaborate with you to identify goals that feel meaningful and achievable. My approach blends well-established, evidence-based methods, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, with a warm, supportive space that honors your unique experience. You’ll find I’m reliable, dedicated, and passionate about helping people create real, lasting change in their lives. My focus is always on what matters most to you and not on labels or checkboxes. I was entered into two international honor societies (one is for the top 15% of students across the span of 8 countries with a flawless 4.0 GPA and the other is for the top students in the field of counseling specifically in the United States). Please note: I am a licensed mental health counselor. If you are seeking medication management, you will need to book an appointment with a psychiatrist. I can assist with referrals upon request.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
I will initially provide a free 15 minute consultation. The purpose of this is for me to get a general idea of why you are seeking therapy, but this is also to help you decide if you feel that I am a good fit for you as a therapist. After the consultation, the first session typically involves an assessment called the biopsychosocial as well as the development of the master treatment plan, which dictates goals that you would like to accomplish in therapy. Finally, at the end of the first session, we will schedule weekly recurring appointments at a specific time and day of the week that is mutually agreed upon. Following the initial intake session, I strongly encourage sessions either once or twice each week, as I feel that mental health is vital in our lives and can greatly impact every aspect of life if unmanaged. In my experience, when a client no longer requires weekly sessions, they no longer are in need of clinical support. In addition, I am also available for emergency crisis sessions for my clients as long as availability permits.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I am highly reliable, dedicated to my work, continuously studying in the field to keep up with the latest developments with over 30 years of studying in the field, and I'm very passionate in everything that I do. I am skilled at learning how an individual's cognitive process works but this is a collaborative process that relies on openness and honesty from the client. I have extensive experience working in private practice, treatment centers, and psychiatric hospitals. I've worked as a Behavioral Health Tech, Case Manager, Primary Therapist, and Clinical Supervisor for over a decade.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I have extensive experience supporting individuals with mental health and substance use concerns, including serious mental illness, trauma, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, personality disorders, and crisis-related needs. At this time, I am not accepting couples for couples therapy. Together, we’ll create a space where you feel heard, respected, and understood. If you’re ready to explore a path toward greater clarity and fulfillment, I’d be honored to work with you.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT was created by Aaron Beck in the 60s. CBT focuses on the "Cognitive Triangle", which involves the identification of maladaptive thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. CBT is one of the most common forms of therapy used today. I have practiced this form of therapy for over 10 years. CBT can help with a number of issues including but not limited to: Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Addiction, OCD, eating disorders, and others.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
DBT was created by Marsha Linehan in the 70s. DBT consists of four components: Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance, Interpersonal Effectiveness, and Mindfulness. DBT is not as commonly found as CBT but often requires a clinician with an advanced skillset to administer. I have practiced this form of therapy for over 10 years. DBT can help with a number of issues including but not limited to: Emotion regulation, Borderline Personality Disorder, depression, PTSD, eating disorders, substance use, Bipolar Disorder, and others.
Attachment-based
Attachment based therapy was created by John Bowlby in the 60s. Attachment based therapy consists on the identification and understanding of the development of attachment styles. According to this form of therapy, attachment styles are developed by the quality of the bond a child has with a caregiver and this later influences how an individual functions in their adult relationships. I have practiced this form of therapy for over 10 years. Attachment based therapy can help with a number of issues including but not limited to: Improving relationships, addressing past trauma, emotion regulation, positive self-awareness, anxiety or mood disorders, trauma, and others.
Psychoanalytic
Psychoanalytic therapy was created by Sigmund Freud in the 1890s. Psychoanalytic therapy explores the past of an individual and how this influences their present development. While many therapists use CBT in the present times, which addresses the current state of being, psychoanalytic therapy attempts to find the root cause of the issue and requires a clinician with an advanced skillset to administer. I have practiced this form of therapy for over 10 years. Psychoanalytic therapy can help with a number of issues including but not limited to: Depression, anxiety, sexual problems, self-destructive behavior, identity disorders, phobias, OCD, and others.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational interviewing was created by William Miller in the 80s. Motivational interviewing helps explore an individual's ambivalence towards change, enhances motivation towards positive change, and involves empathetic listening and open ended questioning. I have practiced this form of therapy for over 10 years. Motivational interviewing can help with a number of issues including but not limited to: Ambivalence towards change, positive lifestyle changes, substance use, depression, anxiety, and others.

Chris is a professional who does his homework and brings exercises and documents for me to read and think through on how to give me a different perspective of what’s going on in my life. I have never in the many years I’ve gone to therapy had someone provide these types of exercises and documents to give me insight as to how to address and understand what’s going on. He also sends mindfulness quotes helping me refer to them when needed. He has really made a great contribution to me.
