Hi there! I'm Samantha, a licensed mental health counselor based in Florida. My passion for mental health care began when I took my first psychology class in high school. I completed my Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree at the University of North Florida with a major in Psychology and minor in Sociology. I went to graduate school at Nova Southeastern University and obtained a Master of Science (MS) in Mental Health Counseling.
In our first session together, we will begin by introductions, then move right into discussing the specific challenges you're dealing with and any other pertinent information. From there, I can develop a personalized strategy for our future sessions and we will re-evaluate as needed. I am also happy to answer any questions you may have!
I've provided individual, group and family therapy to help people overcome trauma, build self-esteem, decrease anxiety and depression, increase productivity, defeat drug/alcohol addiction and so much more. I am also trauma-informed/trained in Rapid Resolution Therapy. I have completed internships at a Head Start pre-school and another internship at a Department of Juvenile Justice alternative high school. I have work experience at substance abuse/mental health dual diagnosis treatment centers at all levels of care and am currently working at my private practice doing telehealth therapy.
I use a combination of cognitive behavior therapy, strength-based techniques and other approaches to help individuals take back the reins of their lives and feel empowerment from within. I believe therapy is a collaborative process that works best when tailored to each individual's needs. I assist my clients in clarifying their treatment goals and collaborate on creating a plan that works best for them. It takes a lot of courage to seek out the steps toward change. I am here to support you and look forward to meeting you!
