Hello! My name is Katlin Morel, LCSW. I am a licensed therapist in the state of Florida with 5 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress, anxiety, depression, anger management, motivation, self esteem, confidence, and more. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with introductions, getting to know one another is a key part of the process, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help us create a tailored plan for to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with wide ranges of ages and individual backgrounds my greatest strengths as a mental health provider are my ability to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and understood. I’m skilled at tailoring evidence-based approaches, like CBT, ACT, and DBT, to meet each client’s unique needs. I have a strong ability to help clients identify and build on their strengths, while also fostering resilience and growth. Additionally, I bring empathy, adaptability, and a practical focus to therapy.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

In ACT, I help clients focus on what really matters to them and take meaningful actions, even when life gets tough. Instead of trying to fight or avoid difficult thoughts and feelings, we work on accepting them and making space for them. I also teach tools to step back from unhelpful thoughts and stay grounded in the present moment, so clients can move forward in a way that aligns with their values. It’s about building flexibility and learning to live fully, even with life’s challenges.

Attachment-based

In attachment-based therapy, I focus on understanding how your early relationships shaped the way you connect with others and view yourself. Together, we explore patterns in your relationships—past and present—and how they may affect your emotions, behaviors, and sense of safety. My goal is to help you build healthier, more secure connections-with yourself and others-by addressing feelings of disconnection, trust, or fear.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In CBT, we work on understanding the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we identify unhelpful thought patterns and explore how they influence your emotions and actions. I’ll help you challenge and reframe those thoughts, so they’re more balanced and supportive. We’ll also practice skills and strategies to address challenges and make positive changes in your daily life.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

In Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I help you develop practical skills to manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and navigate life more effectively. We focus on four key areas: mindfulness (staying present), distress tolerance (handling tough situations without making them worse), emotion regulation (understanding and managing your emotions), and interpersonal effectiveness (building healthy communication and boundaries). DBT is about balancing acceptance of where you are now with making positive changes to create a life that feels more manageable and fulfilling.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

In Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), we focus on your strengths and the positive changes you want to make, rather than dwelling on problems. Together, we identify what’s already working and build on those successes. I’ll help you set clear, achievable goals and explore small steps to move toward them. It’s a practical and forward-thinking approach designed to help you find solutions and make progress quickly.
