Hello there! My name is Elizabeth Taylor and I am in Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have been working as a counselor for the past 9 years, although I have been working in the mental health field for much longer. I began working as a Mental Health Technician when I was an Airman in the United States Air Force in 2007. I worked closely with military men and women returning from deployments and experiencing symptoms of PTSD. I led Anger Management and Stress Management groups. Hello! I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in North Florida (a NH transplant) and have been in private practice for nearly four years now. Teaching was my first career, and counseling came to be as a later-in-life career change. I help people feel empowered to create more meaningful lives and experience healthier relationships, and I feel very privileged to do this important work.

Hello. I'm currently accepting new clients(ages 16 and up) for individual counseling sessions. I offer some evening and weekend hours. I do not provide family, couples, or marital counseling. I have been successful in helping people make positive changes for 25+ years. I welcome you to join me in addressing the issues that lead to you seeking assistance. I attempt to provide a relaxing, non-judgmental environment to allow people to be heard and understood, so positive change, healing and/or growth can begin. My style is client-focused, adapting to your needs and goals and ensuring your therapeutic goals are reasonable and achievable. I may incorporate therapeutic humor when deemed appropriate. I have been a National Board Certified Counselor(NCC) since 2000, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor(LMHC in FL) since 2002, and a Licensed Professional Counselor(LPC in GA) since 2021. I help people who are dealing with depressive symptoms; anxiety; mood swings; life stressors/stress management; anger management; frustration tolerance; coping, & social skills; adjustment issues; relationship issues; grief/loss issues; parenting & behavior modification skills; mindfulness; work/life balance; and life enhancement; amongst others. I attempt to facilitate positive change by assisting people in identifying the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are keeping them stuck(and/or preventing them from moving forward) in order to overcome struggles/obstacles and work towards reaching their full potential. Having worked in community mental health and social services field since 1992, I am seasoned in providing adults and adolescents with compassionate, contemporary and effective mental health counseling services. My collaborative approach combines compassion with accountability so that you can develop greater self-awareness, insight, and skills. We will define the problem and your goals before exploring and agreeing upon a set of interventions, pulling from various therapeutic approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and aspects of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, as well as being trauma-informed. As a side note, I often use analogies to describe therapeutic concepts.
