Hi, I’m Kim, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Credentialed Addiction Counselor with over 15 years of experience supporting adolescents and adults through anxiety, depression, mood-related concerns, substance use, family conflict, and life stressors. I became a therapist because I value creating a space where people feel safe, heard, respected, and supported while working through difficult emotions and life experiences.
My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each person’s needs and goals. I believe meaningful change begins when clients feel comfortable being honest about what they are carrying without fear of judgment. In therapy, I help clients better understand patterns in their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and coping strategies so they can make changes that feel realistic and sustainable.
I use evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, person-centered therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy. I also support clients in building emotional regulation skills, improving communication, setting healthy boundaries, strengthening self-worth, and developing coping tools they can use outside of sessions.
I have over 14 years of experience working with individuals affected by substance use and addiction. I support clients navigating recovery, relapse prevention, emotional triggers, co-occurring mental health concerns, and the impact substance use can have on relationships, self-esteem, and daily functioning. I understand that recovery is not always linear, and I approach this work with compassion, accountability, and respect for each client’s individual journey.
I am also currently completing EMDR training and consultation. I integrate EMDR-informed principles within a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, with careful attention to preparation, stabilization, pacing, and client readiness.
My goal is to provide a nonjudgmental and emotionally safe space where clients feel supported while making meaningful and lasting changes. I strive to help clients build self-awareness, strengthen coping skills, improve relationships, and move toward greater emotional wellness and stability.
