Hi, my name is Pam. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC, LMHC, LCMHC) and Certified National Counselor (NCC) in the state of South Carolina North Carolina and Florida. Since I became a counselor at a college in 2015, I have become an expert in my field of working with young women and I LOVE IT! I have been able to assist many students through empowerment and retraining of their brains to move forward and create the life they desire, rather than the life they "should" have. I believe anyone and everyone can benefit from DBT; learning better communication skills, how to feel and manage their emotions, how to deal with distress that happens in all of our lives, and most important; how to be present and authentic in our own life. No matter if you are dealing with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationship, family or any issue these skills can change your life if you try. I am also a trauma therapist using an innovative technique called EMDR. Trauma can be anything that holds us back or has a lasting emotional triggering that affects us on a conscious or sub conscious level. The therapy is meant for healing, not coping. Many times depression and anxiety are results of negative events that are stuck in our brains and the cells of our bodies. What EMDR creates is a space to heal from what has happened to us, rather than just cope with it the rest of our lives. I very much look forward to working with you! See you soon.

Hi! My name is Nancy Muricken. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Tampa FL currently accepting new clients via Telehealth! I provide individual therapy with a pinch of millennial energy and the spice from South India. That being said, I hope that you and I can soon spill the chai! Let me go first. I was born and raised in Queens, NY where I grew up in a Catholic South Indian household by parents and extended family from Kerala, India. Now if you are like me and was born or grew up in America but raised by an Immigrant family, there are a lot of values. traditions, and pressure that are instilled in us. Mental health is completely disregarded or negated and Masala Chai, Vicks, and praying to Jesus become the answers to all our problems. Nothing wrong with praying to God, I'm all for it but imagine if we had the insight and coping skills as a child AND a supportive environment/spiritual support? We probably wouldn't be here searching for a therapist for our mother and father wounds. That being said, the psychodynamic approach is one of my main approaches I use in therapy to identify patterns from our childhood which affect our behaviors, actions, and relationships in our present life. I use Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as my other treatment methods to help clients embrace their present lives, identify patterns of thinking, and reframe negative thoughts. I am an email or phone call away. Book your appointment today! I am excited to meet you and for your journey to healing.

Hello, My name is Moises Ramy. I am a licensed mental health therapist, a Qualified Supervisor in the State of Florida, and a doctor of psychology. I graduated as a Doctor of Clinical Psychology from Carlos Albizu University, Miami Campus and completed my doctoral internship at the Federal Medical Center (FMC) in Lexington, Kentucky. At that time, the mission of FMC was a federal prison/hospital for incarcerated females with medical and psychological conditions. During my doctoral internship, I completed three clinical rotations. Two at FMC, in the Crisis Wing and in the General Population Unit and an elective rotation at Ridge Behavioral Health System (formerly Charter Ridge Hospital of Lexington), Lexington, Kentucky, assessing suicidality of adolescents in crisis from the Lexington area and the Appalachians. My clinical spectrum covers diverse females and males, LGBTQ members, homeless veterans, and young college students experiencing moderate to severe adjustment problems as well as older adult issues. During these clinical years, I have acquired vast experience helping clients from all walks of life struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, interpersonal conflicts, bipolar disorder, gender and sexual identity issues, abuse and trauma, and substance abuse. I have offered most of my clinical services in different prisons and rehabilitation centers, private and community mental health hospitals, and veteran homeless organizations. My exposure and experience working with these populations have extraordinarily helped me become a more empathetic, non-judgmental and non-directive clinician. My whole idea about psychotherapy is helping clients to help themselves so that they work on solutions, develop the strength to cope with their everyday challenges and regain competence and control of their lives.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Florida rather than a city like Tampa?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Florida from Miami to Jacksonville! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Florida.

Will my therapist take Aetna?

Yes! If you use Aetna you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have Aetna you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I'm" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
