(he/him)
I’m a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 12 years of experience supporting young adults and adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief, and life transitions. I provide therapy in both English and Spanish, creating a space where clients can express themselves comfortably and authentically. My approach combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and a strong foundation in compassion and self-compassion. I help clients understand their patterns, build practical coping skills, and learn to navigate both the challenges they can change and the ones they cannot. My goal is to help you feel more in control, more confident, and better equipped to move forward.
In our first session, the focus is on truly understanding you—your struggles, your current situation, and how your mental health is impacting your daily life and functioning. I’ll ask questions to get a clear picture of what you’ve been experiencing, what has brought you to therapy, and what you’re hoping to change. This process helps me develop a deeper understanding of your needs so we can begin creating a plan that feels realistic and tailored to you. My goal is for you to feel heard, supported, and understood, while also leaving with a clearer sense of direction.
One of my greatest strengths is combining strong clinical knowledge with genuine compassion and empathy. I’m deeply committed to continuously growing as a clinician so I can better support the people I work with. Clients often appreciate that I create a space where they feel comfortable being open, while also receiving guidance that is practical and meaningful. I bring a balance of support and structure—helping you process your experiences, challenge unhelpful patterns, and build skills you can actually use in your daily life. I’m especially passionate about helping clients develop self-compassion, particularly around the things they cannot control, while empowering them to make meaningful changes where they can.
I work best with clients who are feeling vulnerable and emotionally exhausted, regardless of where they are in their healing process, but who are open to change. Many of the people I support struggle with anxiety and depression and feel overwhelmed by their internal world. They may not have the energy or clarity to take action yet, but they are willing to slow down, open up, and have an honest conversation about what they are going through. My ideal client is someone who is able to talk about their pain without needing to defend it. They are open to exploring how their thoughts, beliefs, and patterns contribute to their current struggles, even if that insight is uncomfortable. I tend to work best with individuals who can acknowledge their suffering and are open to taking some level of responsibility for their growth, while also learning to approach themselves with compassion instead of criticism. I focus deeply on the relationship people have with themselves, including their internal dialogue and the way they see their identity. I connect well with clients who are willing to reflect, stay present in the process, and begin shifting how they relate to themselves from a more compassionate and understanding place. Over time, this work allows them to reshape not just how they think, but how they experience who they are.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I’ve been using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for several years, including training in Trauma-Focused CBT. In sessions, I focus on helping you understand how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected, so you can start making meaningful changes. I use a structured and practical approach, often focusing on one or two key areas at a time to avoid feeling overwhelmed. For example, if you’re struggling with anxiety, we’ll work together to identify unhelpful thought patterns and learn how to challenge and reframe them into more balanced, realistic perspectives. My goal is to give you tools you can actively use in your day-to-day life.
Compassion Focused
I incorporate compassion-focused techniques to help clients develop a healthier and more supportive relationship with themselves. Many people I work with struggle with self-criticism, and part of our work is learning how to respond to those thoughts with more understanding instead of judgment. In sessions, I help you recognize these patterns and begin shifting your inner dialogue. We might explore how you would speak to someone you care about—or even a younger version of yourself—and start applying that same level of compassion inward. Over time, this helps reduce self-judgment, build emotional resilience, and create a more balanced mindset.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help clients create practical, goal-oriented change. This approach is especially helpful if you’re looking for clarity, direction, and results you can start seeing relatively quickly. We’ll focus on what you want to improve and identify small, realistic steps to move you forward. I often use tools like scaling questions or future-focused exercises to help you see progress and build momentum. This approach helps you feel more in control, more confident, and motivated to continue making changes.
