Olushola Abiodun Lawal was born and raised in South Florida. He is an alumnus of Florida State University. Shola, as his friends call him, graduated from FSU with his Bachelor's of Social Work in 2013 and again with his Master's of Social Work in 2015. While a student at FSU, Shola gained an interest in the field of substance abuse, child welfare, and mental health disorders/ life coaching. As a Licensed Clinical social worker in the state of Florida, Shola has insight and understanding of the different criteria and appropriate diagnosis for an array of mental health disorders. Shola has over 5 years of experience as a Primary Therapist, case manager, and clinical care coordinator.

I'm a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 12+ years of experience. My specialties consist of psychosomatic illnesses, relationships, and career counseling. I received my Bachelors degree in Child Psychology, initially working with the teen/young adult population. I then transitioned over to adults as I pursued my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. Whether it's individuals, couples, or the geriatric population, I'm happy to get to work with whomever comes my way. I do my best to facilitate a warm, trusting environment. Channeling these early experiences, I have written and self-published the book Humbug to Happiness. The book is an extension of the author, David A Gibbs passionate belief that everyone is entitled and deserves to live a life of happiness! I have worked in multiple settings, including home-based crisis stabilization, private and nonprofit organizations, and private practice. I have presented at both local and national conferences, addressing mental health and substance abuse, and its impact on the communities.

I've been practicing since 2016 and have worked with a variety of clients such as domestic violence survivors, human trafficking survivors, people with anger issues, individuals in difficult relationships, people who are depressed, people who have anxiety, individuals with PTSD, individuals in jails and prisons, and people who just aren't sure of where to turn to for help. I earned my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Hodges University, and my BS in Criminal Justice from Florida Gulf Coast University. I started my private practice in 2022 after working for a national public mental health agency, which specializes in serious mental illness.
