Daniel Ivey is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Board Certified Clinical Chaplain holding two Master's Degrees who truly cares about people. Coming from a Cognitive Behavior Therapy framework and his experience also as a spiritual leader, he helps people CONNECT again with their Self, Relationships, and Spiritual sense of purpose within their unique destiny and purpose in life. Whether it is a major mental illness or a major life issue or relationship struggle, Daniel seeks to bring things back together in an orderly fashion that leads again to wholeness and fullness of life. As a natural born healer and counselor, Daniel started noticing in childhood that people just felt comfortable opening up their lives to him. His older brother Randall explained to him, "Daniel, it's because they can tell you really care." So he's been a life long learner of how to help people best, with a Bachelor's in Psychology from the University of Georgia, a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary, and Master in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Central Florida, along with 1600 hours of Clinical Pastoral Education and a "Mini-MBA" certificate from Rollins College. Daniel specializes in relationships, crisis, trauma and veterans issues, bipolar disorder, autism, ADHD, spirituality in counseling, grief, career counseling, personality theory, along with anxiety and depression.
Are you ready to roll up your sleeves and really work hard for your results? Because I'm ready for you! I show up with passion, care, and expertise. All I ask of you is this, show up with the boldness to be honest and truthful about anything and everything that bothers you, concerns you, anything you need to get off of your chest or anything you need to explore in your mind. If you ever feel like you're dumping on me, then you're doing a good job! I'm ready and here to listen, and help you discern your own journey. I have one agenda and one agenda only: to help you live your best life to the fullest, according to your terms and understanding. Are you ready? Then let's go!
I will primarily utilize Person Centered Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques, with psychodynamic methods, existential philosophy, Gestalt techniques for Catharsis, family and relationship theories, personality theory, honest feedback and common sense. You are the author of our sessions and I am your guide. You'll have all the time you need to vent and share, and I will be chiming in with challenging perspectives and philosophies as I see fit, to help you discern your truth. As a previous Pastor and Clinical Chaplain in the hospitals and hospice, I will also utilize spirituality in counseling according to your belief systems, if any. We are Bio-Psycho-Social beings.
My biggest strength is to straighten out confusion and complicated matters into a simplistic focus. It's like the ability to untie the knots of life, emotion, and relationships that wrap us up.
If you are struggling and ready for change, then I would love to help.

Incredibly reliable and an excellent listener, every time I've spoken with Daniel he sifts through the jumble of words I throw at him and picks out the important aspects of it that really hit the mark. He's been an incredible help for me in the time I've been seeing him. 5/5
