LMHC, 10 years of experience
New to Grow
Hello! I’m Kristen — a therapist inspired by the resilience, connection, and joy I’ve witnessed in people around the world. My seven years living abroad taught me that every person carries a unique story and an innate capacity to heal. Today, I support clients who are navigating stress, addiction, stress, depression, and major life transitions by integrating evidence-based practices with experiential techniques. I believe healing happens when we feel seen, empowered, and safe to explore who we truly are. My approach is collaborative and grounded in helping you reconnect to your strengths, values, and inner wisdom. In our work together, you will develop tools for emotional balance and move toward a more fulfilling and aligned version of your life. I look forward to supporting you on your journey.
In our first session, we’ll begin by exploring what brought you to therapy and what you are hoping to change or better understand. I’ll ask questions to learn about your background, your strengths, and the challenges you’re facing right now. Together, we’ll start to define your goals and discuss how we can best work as a team moving forward. There is no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with — we will move at your pace. By the end of the session, my goal is for you to feel welcomed, heard, and confident that you have a clear direction for your healing journey.
What sets my approach apart is the unique intersection of evidence-based therapy, experiential practices, and a multicultural perspective shaped by years of living abroad. I draw from CBT, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, and somatic awareness to support both practical skill-building and deeper reconnection to self. My background in education and performing arts helps me attune to emotional expression, encourage creativity, and make the therapeutic process engaging and meaningful. Clients often tell me they appreciate feeling truly heard and understood. I honor each person’s lived experience, help them uncover strengths they may have forgotten, and walk beside them as they build confidence, resilience, and a more fulfilling life. I believe therapy should not only reduce symptoms — it should awaken a renewed sense of possibility.
I’m here for individuals who are overwhelmed by life’s pressures yet motivated to heal and grow. My clients often want relief from anxiety, depression, or addictive coping — but they also want deeper transformation: to feel more grounded, more connected, and more like themselves. You may be navigating a major transition, craving purpose, or tired of “just getting by.” You don’t need to have everything figured out — you just need to be willing to show up for yourself. I’ll help you move from survival to a life that feels balanced, empowered, and aligned with who you truly are.
I use an integrative, experiential, and holistic approach grounded in CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness-based practices. I support clients in exploring current challenges, shifting limiting beliefs, and developing skills for emotional balance. Together, we build on strengths and create a personalized plan for meaningful and sustainable change.
I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to help clients increase motivation, challenge unhelpful thinking patterns, and establish healthier behaviors. I also incorporate mindfulness tools to enhance emotional awareness and coping skills. My approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and tailored to each client’s goals.
