This includes reviewing informed consent, explaining your rights and responsibilities, discussing confidentiality and its limits, and collecting relevant background and clinical information. I will also assess for any immediate safety concerns and begin identifying your goals for therapy. As part of this initial meeting, we will both assess the level of rapport to ensure that a strong therapeutic relationship can be established. A solid therapeutic alliance is essential for effective treatment, and this session is an opportunity for both of us to determine if this is the right fit
