My work is grounded in the belief that therapy should be a space where you feel genuinely seen, safe, and empowered, especially if you’ve felt overlooked, misunderstood, or disconnected in other parts of your life.
My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to you. I bring a calm, nonjudgmental presence to the therapy room, and I meet you where you are- whether you’re navigating anxiety, cultural identity stress, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, life transitions, or past trauma.
In sessions, I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. These approaches offer structure and flexibility, helping us identify what’s getting in the way and build tools to support your growth and well-being. I believe in showing up fully, both as a clinician and as a human being, and I would be honored to walk alongside you as you navigate whatever comes next.
I am a licensed therapist in Florida and Connecticut specializing in supporting seniors, older adults, and medically complex patients navigating chronic illness, health changes, grief, anxiety, and major life transitions. My work centers on helping individuals who have spent a lifetime “pushing through” finally have a space where they can slow down, feel understood, and receive steady emotional support.
My background includes extensive experience with chronic illness, medical trauma, caregiver stress, mobility changes, and the emotional impact of aging. I understand how health challenges affect identity, independence, relationships, and daily life. I help clients make sense of these shifts with compassion and clarity. Whether you’re adjusting to a new diagnosis, grieving a partner, managing multiple medical conditions, or feeling overwhelmed by life changes, you don’t have to navigate it alone.
My approach is warm, grounding, and practical. I blend trauma informed care with real world strategies to help you reduce anxiety, manage stress, cope with grief, and regain a sense of control. I meet you exactly where you are, emotionally, physically, and medically. We move at a pace that respects your energy and capacity.
I’m committed to creating a safe, supportive space where your experiences are honored and your voice matters. Together, we’ll work toward steadiness, clarity, and a renewed sense of meaning in this chapter of life.

I am a warm individual who will listen to your story and help you to formulate the goals you want to achieve as you continue to build your life story. My experience includes working with those experiencing depression, anxiety, grief/loss, those struggling with self-esteem, relationship issues, spirituality, and women’s issues. My role is to help you become the “expert” so you can continue to grow long after our final session together.
I have lived a long and colorful life. Like everyone else, I've made good and bad choices and learned from each. I have 22+ years experience in the mental health and substance abuse treatment field. I DO NOT JUDGE, AT ALL, PERIOD. I can be both blunt and gentle as appropriate. My role is to offer another perspective, a way to see life more fully and function better, no more, no less. I don't pretend to have all the answers but only one slice of wisdom. I just share what can help someone. Some people are not yet ready to be helped. Yet for those who are feeling lost on life's journey and are willing to listen and learn, I'm here to assist. My life work can be summed up in three words, "offering people hope. "

Hi my name is Ebony, let's take the next therapeutic steps together. I have extensive experience in anger management, anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, trauma. I use a variety of techniques and strategies to assist my clients with achieving their desired therapeutic outcomes including motivational interviewing, CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed care. I understand that sometimes life presents stressors and challenges that require additional support from others-and I'm here to help.
I’ve always been interested in understanding people — how life experiences, relationships, stress, and challenges shape the way we cope and move through the world. Over time, I realized I found a lot of meaning in helping people work through obstacles, gain perspective, and feel less stuck in the things weighing them down. I know it can be hard to ask for support, especially when you’ve been trying to manage everything on your own. I want clients to feel comfortable being honest about what they’re facing while also working together to find practical, concrete solutions that help life feel more manageable and move them toward meaningful, lasting change.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and my Master’s degree in Social Work with a clinical focus from Capella University. Over the past 14 years, I have worked with children, teens, adults, couples, and families across in-home, outpatient, and telehealth settings. I’ve supported people through some of the most difficult periods of their lives, including severe anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship struggles, family conflict, crisis situations, and overwhelming life stress. Working in a variety of settings and with diverse client needs has taught me how to meet people where they are, adapt to challenging situations, and help clients find realistic ways to move forward.
I see therapy as a place to be real about what’s not working and figure out what needs to change. Some clients come in feeling emotionally exhausted, disconnected in relationships, overwhelmed by responsibilities, or frustrated by patterns they can’t seem to break. My role is to help people make sense of what they’re experiencing, develop practical tools that actually fit their lives, and regain a stronger sense of control, stability, and confidence moving forward.
Dr. Cunningham is an integrated clinician, meaning her approach is shaped by what will actually support your progress in therapy.

• DBT
• Trauma-informed care
• Mindfulness
• Faith-based therapy
