(she/her)
You have taken a positive step in seeking therapy! Being an adult sounded way better when we were kids, huh? Little did we know we would have to worry less about quicksand and if algebra would really matter, and more about feelings of anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, loneliness, and a general lack of control. My goal as your therapist is to create a space where you feel heard, validated, and supported. You are not your diagnosis, and therapy is not about "fixing" anything. Therapy is about accepting and embracing challenges rather than trying to avoid or escape them.
Our intake will be very easygoing. We will use the first few sessions to get to know each other with no pressure or judgment. I will always allow you to share only what you're comfortable with and on your timeline.
Along with Figment, LDOG, my counseling style is down-to-earth and collaborative, using humor to help build a connection and ease any anxieties that may arise. While past trauma may come up, we will focus on the here and now, and what will help you live a more productive, fulfilling, and peaceful life.
At this time, I see clients who are going through life transitions, ranging from leaving college and entering adulthood to sending kids off to college and rediscovering the woman within.
