My treatment methods

Attachment-based

My approach to therapy is rooted in an attachment-based model, which means I believe our earliest relationships and life experiences shape how we see ourselves, connect with others, and respond to stress. These patterns often influence how we communicate, manage emotions, trust others, set boundaries, and navigate relationships throughout our lives. Together, we'll explore these patterns with curiosity and compassion, not to place blame on anyone or dwell on the past, but to better understand how your experiences have shaped you and how they may be affecting you today. In our work together, the therapeutic relationship itself becomes an important part of the healing process. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and collaborative space where you feel heard, respected, and understood. As trust develops, we can begin identifying patterns that no longer serve you, strengthen your emotional awareness, build healthier coping skills, and foster more secure and fulfilling relationships. While we may explore past experiences when they are relevant, our primary focus is helping you create meaningful change in the present so you can move forward with greater confidence, resilience, and connection.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

My approach to therapy incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based treatment that focuses on the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Often, the way we interpret situations influences how we feel and the choices we make. Sometimes these patterns are helpful, while other times they can contribute to anxiety, depression, stress, or feeling stuck. In therapy, we'll work together to identify unhelpful thought patterns, explore how they impact your emotions and behaviors, and develop healthier, more balanced ways of responding to life's challenges. CBT is a collaborative and goal-oriented approach, which means we work as a team to identify your goals and create practical strategies that you can apply outside of our sessions. Therapy is not about telling you what to think; it's about helping you develop greater self-awareness, challenge patterns that are no longer serving you, and build effective coping skills that promote lasting change.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

My approach to therapy incorporates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), an evidence-based treatment that helps individuals develop practical skills for managing intense emotions, improving relationships, coping with stress, and responding more effectively to life's challenges. DBT is built on the idea that two things can be true at the same time, you can accept yourself as you are today while also working toward meaningful change. Together, we'll identify areas where you may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or reactive, while building skills to help you respond with greater awareness, confidence, and intention. DBT focuses on four core skill areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. These skills can help you become more present in the moment, navigate difficult emotions without feeling overwhelmed, communicate your needs more effectively, and build healthier relationships.

Motivational Interviewing

My approach to therapy incorporates Motivational Interviewing (MI), a collaborative, evidence-based approach that helps you explore your own reasons for change in a supportive and nonjudgmental environment. I recognize that making changes can be difficult, especially when you feel uncertain, conflicted, or overwhelmed. Rather than telling you what you "should" do, we'll work together to explore what is most important to you, identify your personal values and goals, and strengthen your confidence in making meaningful, lasting changes that align with the life you want to create. Motivational Interviewing is based on the belief that you are the expert on your own life and already possess many of the strengths and abilities needed for growth. My role is to listen with empathy, ask thoughtful questions, and help you recognize and build upon your own motivation for change. Whether you're working through anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, behavioral challenges, or life transitions, this approach helps you move beyond feeling stuck and toward making intentional choices that reflect your values.

Strength-Based

I use a strengths-based approach to therapy, which means I believe that every person has unique abilities, resilience, and personal qualities that can serve as the foundation for growth and healing. While therapy provides a space to address challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, relationship concerns, or life transitions, it is equally important to recognize the strengths, successes, and coping skills you already possess. Rather than focusing solely on problems or deficits, we will work together to identify what is working well, build upon your existing resources, and use those strengths to overcome obstacles and achieve your goals. A strengths-based approach is collaborative, empowering, and individualized. I recognize that each person's experiences, values, and definition of success are different, so therapy is tailored to your unique needs and aspirations. My role is to help you gain insight into your strengths, develop practical skills, and foster greater confidence in your ability to navigate life's challenges. Together, we will celebrate progress, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change by focusing not only on what you are working through, but also on the strengths that will help you move forward.
