Hello! My name is Micaela Minano and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I offer individual therapy to women struggling with low self-esteem, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, life transitions, peer relationship issues and trauma. I offer a compassionate and non-judgmental space where clients can share their stories. I use a person-centered approach that involves empathetic listening, respect and understanding.
I create a space where clients feel comfortable and heard. It can be hard to open up to friends and family and share your struggles for fear of their reaction or being judged but in sessions with me you can openly talk about any concerns. I work collaboratively with you to improve your confidence, relationships, personal growth and overall mental health.
I'm compassionate and dedicated and will take the time to get to know you and hear your concerns. Together, we will identify the root cause of your challenges and create a personalized treatment plan.
Are you struggling to handle life stressors? Do you find yourself constantly caring for others and ignoring your needs? Does anxiety or depression keep you from living the life you want? Does a history of trauma keep you from achieving your goals? Many women struggle with mental health issues and want to find strategies to regulate their emotions, improve their self-esteem, and increase independence. You deserve happiness and success.
I use CBT to help you identify unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to emotional distress or unhelpful behavior. Through CBT, you will learn the connection between thoughts, feelings and behaviors. By becoming aware of these unhelpful thoughts patterns, we can then collaboratively work on developing healthier thought patterns.
This is an important part of my practice as I will show curiosity and respect about how your culture and background might influence your beliefs and behavior.
I am a TF-CBT certified clinician. This is an evidence-based treatment to address symptoms of Trauma and PTSD.
