I am Angela Velez, a Licensed Professional Counselor in the greater Atlanta area, and I’d love to help you on your journey toward healing and self-discovery. At this time, all sessions are conducted using HIPAA compliant telehealth formats for the states of Connecticut, Maryland, and Georgia. I've been a therapist for 19 years, graduating from East Tennessee State University and Arizona State University, with graduate degrees in counseling and applied behavioral analysis.
Therapy is a process of growth and self-discovery. In my therapy sessions, I promote behavioral transformation by encouraging a positive outlook and adoption of new attitudes to trust your own resiliency. I walk with you on your journey of self discovery and support you while you work through barriers that are keeping you from being the best version of you.
I implement effective psychotherapy methods to instill self-understanding among individuals and encourage them to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations. Since beginning my journey as a counselor in 2005, I have provided therapeutic supports for children, families and individuals. From small scale circumstances, to traumatic experiences - my services are personalized to suit everyone’s needs.
I specialize in working with adults with depression, anxiety, and trauma. I have completed extensive training in both CPT (trauma focused therapy for adults), TF-CBT (trauma focused for children and teens) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. My focus of practice is helping adults process their concerns, learn to live life by addressing barriers head on and move through them instead of avoiding, so each person can live their best life and experience peace and joy.
Angela Velez offers therapy covered by Husky Health and Medicaid in Connecticut.
