About me

I am a bilingual Latina Licensed Clinical Social Worker committed to providing a safe, compassionate, and culturally sensitive space where healing begins with feeling truly seen and understood. I work with children, teens, adults, and older adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, depression, ADHD, grief, adjustment challenges, family issues, domestic violence, and life transitions. Through empathy, mindfulness, and a strengths-based approach, I help clients rediscover their voice, build resilience, and move toward meaningful change—in English or Spanish.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, you can expect a gentle and welcoming conversation focused on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. I’ll ask questions about your current concerns, personal history, and what you hope to gain from our work together. This isn’t a test—there are no right or wrong answers. It’s simply a space for you to share at your own pace. We’ll talk about your goals, explore what feels most important for you right now, and begin identifying the strengths and coping skills you already bring to the table. I’ll also explain my approach to therapy, answer any questions you may have, and outline what our sessions can look like moving forward. Most importantly, the first session is about creating comfort, safety, and connection. My role is to listen, support, and ensure you feel understood. Together, we’ll begin building a therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, compassion, and collaboration—whether in English or Spanish.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What makes me unique as a therapist is the combination of my lived experience as a Latina woman, my bilingual ability, and my dedication to culturally sensitive, client-centered care. I have worked with individuals across the lifespan—from infancy through older adulthood—which allows me to understand developmental needs at every stage of life. With over six years of experience supporting individuals and children in crisis intervention, I bring a calm, grounded presence and the ability to respond effectively in moments of distress. My work in diverse and inner-city communities has strengthened my understanding of cultural expectations, systemic barriers, and multigenerational dynamics. These experiences help me connect with clients in an authentic and meaningful way, ensuring they feel truly seen, respected, and understood. I draw on empathy, mindfulness, and evidence-based practices to help clients navigate anxiety, trauma, depression, ADHD, grief, domestic violence, and major life transitions. Together, these strengths make me highly effective in guiding clients toward healing, resilience, and emotional well-being.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve individuals seeking a warm, culturally sensitive, and collaborative space to heal. As a bilingual Latina therapist with experience in inner-city communities, I understand the unique challenges that arise from cultural expectations, family dynamics, systemic barriers, and life transitions. I support children, teens, adults, and older adults navigating anxiety, trauma, depression, ADHD, grief, adjustment difficulties, and domestic violence. I am especially attuned to the needs of clients from multicultural or immigrant families, individuals facing inner-city stressors, and those who value empathy, safety, and genuine connection in therapy. My goal is to meet each person where they are, honor their lived experiences, and help them reconnect with their strengths, find emotional balance, and rediscover their voice—whether in English or Spanish.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have extensive experience integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), person-centered therapy, interpersonal therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions to support clients across diverse backgrounds and clinical presentations. In my clinical work, I utilize CBT to help clients identify and challenge maladaptive thought patterns, increase awareness of cognitive distortions, and build healthier behavioral responses. I incorporate Trauma-Focused CBT when working with clients who have experienced trauma, guiding them through gradual exposure, affect regulation skills, and trauma narrative development in a safe and supportive environment. Grounding my practice in person-centered therapy, I prioritize empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuineness, ensuring clients feel heard and empowered throughout treatment. I draw on interpersonal therapy to help clients strengthen communication skills, improve interpersonal effectiveness, and explore relational patterns that influence mood and functioning. Additionally, I integrate mindfulness-based techniques—breathing exercises, grounding practices, and present-moment awareness—to help clients develop emotional regulation skills, reduce stress, and cultivate self-compassion. Across all modalities, I maintain a collaborative, culturally responsive approach, tailoring interventions to each client’s values, identity, strengths, and lived experiences. My goal is to create a therapeutic environment that fosters safety, resilience, and meaningful change.

Strength-Based

I incorporate a strength-based approach throughout my work with clients of all ages—from infancy through older adulthood. With over six years of experience supporting individuals and children in crisis intervention, I’ve learned the importance of helping clients recognize their inner resilience, even during moments of distress or uncertainty. Strength-based therapy allows me to highlight what is already working in a person’s life, amplify their existing skills, and build confidence in their ability to overcome challenges. In practice, this means I intentionally look for clients’ natural abilities, cultural strengths, coping patterns, and personal values. I help clients identify times they have shown courage, creativity, or perseverance, and we use those strengths as a foundation for growth. Whether someone is navigating anxiety, trauma, depression, grief, ADHD, family conflict, or life transitions, I support them in seeing themselves not as the problem, but as the author of their healing. My background as a bilingual Latina clinician and my experience working in diverse, inner-city communities further enrich this approach. I understand the cultural, familial, and community strengths that shape people’s lives, and I integrate these into therapy in a meaningful, affirming way. Strength-based therapy allows me to empower clients to rediscover their voice, rebuild trust in themselves, and move forward with hope and confidence.
