I work best with people who are curious about themselves and open to being honest, even when it feels uncomfortable. Many start therapy because of anxiety or depression, but these feelings often signal something deeper, like a weak sense of identity or a lack of purpose. If you are ready to explore your inner world and face what you find, I would be glad to support you on that journey. I work with adults, including Russian-speaking immigrants from the former Soviet Union and other countries. I offer sessions in both English and Russian.

Love and work are essential to a meaningful life. Relationships with others define experience and work gives a sense of purpose. Disturbance in these affect well being and contribute to an overwhelmed response leading to collapse. As trauma is relational so is recovery and healing. Having the right therapeutic alliance is a key element and requires, attunement and constistency.  James has over 20 years of clinical experience treating diverse individuals in a variety of settings. You've tried therapy before but found that coping skills and worksheets aren't cutting it. I am a queer 2nd-gen Asian therapist taking a deeper approach. Together, we collect the pieces of your life story you've taken from past relationships and experiences and examine them, looking for new ways to write your own story. I also welcome discussion of issues like racism, homophobia, sexism, and how they affect us. My clients are able to make sense of their patterns and discover their own solutions through a space we craft with humor, compassion, and the occasional meme. By the end of therapy, my clients share feeling more at peace with themselves and more confident in managing their relationships. Most of my experience has been with children and teens at Kaiser Permanente over the last 6 years, including the combination of depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use, and conflictual family dynamics. I have also worked in research settings with folks experiencing psychosis and college-aged students. At present, I am providing crisis evaluations at a local non-profit in SF in addition to this practice. I see teens and adults through this practice.

Hi there, I primarily work in substance use recovery (abstinence and harm reduction) and trauma recovery. I also have specialized training in treating anxiety, depression, and sleep issues/insomnia. My treatment orientation is based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy concepts, however the foundation of my early training was Psychodynamic. I have been trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, STAIR (Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation), and Seeking Safety for trauma treatment. When treating anxiety, I take a CBT, or exposure approach with skill-building. For depression I utilize CBT concepts, or behavioral activation with skill-building. For sleep issues, I work with the CBT for insomnia treatment model. These are just a few examples of treatment approaches I utilize. I am relational focused, which to me means finding a plan that works best for you, practicing cultural humility and not trying to fit a round peg in a square hole. I look forward to working with you.

Greetings, Life can be confusing, relationships can be stressful, and the present can make you feel anxious or depressed. Sometimes a painful past can surface into the moment, especially when situations are difficult or when you are experiencing major change. During these periods your mood and thoughts can be affected in negative ways. When you are feeling alone, disconnected, or confused, talking things through can make all the difference. I work with anyone struggling to find joy, peace, and fulfillment. I offer a safe, inviting space for you to share thoughts and feelings, to vent, to feel heard, and to reorient to meaning. Please allow me to assist you finding relief and clarity. I will meet you where you are at and welcome you. I address healing on multiple levels of the body-mind connection with a focus on the notion that caring about something or someone along with experiencing meaning can counterbalance the effects of hurt, a disturbing past, or a present stressful situation or transition. I have more than 20 years of experience helping clients navigate major change and transition, gain closure, and create new beginnings. I apply interventions from a mind-body-being perspective and assess current life stressors to distinguish between situational mood and thought disturbances from those enduring and a consequence of previous hurt or trauma.

Welcome to Dr. Mitchell’s Safe and Brave Space I began my career in social services in 1995, working with children, youth, and families often labeled as “at-risk”—many of whom were impacted by substance use, poverty, child abuse, and neglect. Over time, my commitment to equity and justice led me to the field of social work, where I continue to center the person-in-environment perspective and actively support antiracist policies, ideas, and actions. This work is grounded in an acknowledgment that we live and practice on the stolen lands of Indigenous peoples, and that much of the wealth and infrastructure of this nation was built through the unpaid labor and enduring suffering of enslaved Africans. I honor these histories and their ongoing impact as part of my commitment to justice, healing, and collective liberation. I am deeply committed to self-awareness and reflective practice, both personally and with those I serve. I walk alongside clients on a healing journey rooted in self-care, resilience, and transformation. I integrate narrative therapy and other evidence-informed approaches through the lens of intersectionality to remain fully person-centered. My practice pays particular attention to the impacts of trauma and race-based stress on one’s inner world. As appropriate, I incorporate Feminist Theory, Queer Theory, and Liberation Psychology to support healing that honors identity, lived experience, and systemic context. I welcome all who value peace, healing, and justice to join me in this space—to try, to grow, and to be.

"You’re braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think." -A.A. Milne We all struggle at times to see our inner strengths and capabilities due to the life experiences which have shaped us. I work in the belief that we each have everything we need to achieve a fulfilled and successful life already present within us; sometimes we just need a little help accessing it. Using a multi-modality approach I encourage my clients to work in the small steps, not the giant leaps, that bring us to self awareness, acceptance, and lasting change. I began my working career as an EMT in pre-hospital and Emergency Room settings. The desire to further my education and better serve my community led me to pursue becoming an LMFT. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brandman University and a Master’s degree in Psychology with a dual emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy and Clinical Counseling from Brandman University. I have additional training and experience in Clinical Pastoral Education from the College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy at David Grant Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base and have worked in both residential treatment and clinical settings. My family history is rooted in both Military and First Responder service therefore I have dedicated a large part of my career as an LMFT to serving these communities and others in trauma recovery. I have four sons and four grandchildren. In my off time I enjoy spending time in nature, photography, and attending baseball games with my husband of 26 years.

Currently Accepting New Clients | Bilingual Therapy in English & Spanish Hello, I’m Mayra. Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally drained, or unsure how to move forward? Perhaps you’re navigating relationship challenges, divorce, grief, a major life transition, or simply trying to better understand yourself and your emotions. You don’t have to navigate it alone. I’m Mayra, a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), first-generation Mexican Latina, with more than 17 years of experience in mental health. I provide therapy in English and Spanish and offer a warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and accepted. As a first-generation Mexican Latina, I understand how culture, family, identity, expectations, and life experiences can shape the way we see ourselves and navigate challenges. I provide culturally responsive therapy that honors your unique story, values, strengths, and goals. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship and communication concerns, divorce and separation, grief and loss, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, and family or cultural concerns. My approach is warm, collaborative, and client-centered. Together, we can explore what you’re experiencing, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, develop healthy coping strategies, and work toward meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you. Therapy can be a space where you don’t have to be the strong one or have all the answers. You can come exactly as you are. If you’re ready for support, healing, and positive change, I would be honored to walk alongside you. Currently accepting new clients. I invite you to reach out and take the first step toward feeling better and creating meaningful change. — Mayra, LCSW

My approach is solution focused. I am not primarily concerned with how or why your present challenge developed but will focus instead on helping you to find a way forward. I hope to elicit and reinforce your positive attributes and competencies and help you access your inner strength. Your ability to change or improve your situation depends on your desire to do so and my job is to awaken that desire within you. The biggest challenge all of us face is negative thinking. This is a reflection of our own disappointment of what we see when we look inside ourselves. By improving our self-image through accentuating our positive qualities we begin to see the world in a more positive light. A sure way of feeling better about ourselves is to find something good in every other human being.

Sometimes, we just need some space to share and explore our own emotions in a non-judgemental and unbiased space. There is no "one size fits all" approach to therapy, I am honored to have the opportunity to work with you to achieve your goals and find peace. I practice an open, empathic approach to therapy using multiple different evidence-based modalities to help find a good fit for you as an individual. Reaching out for help can be difficult and takes a great deal of strength, I am so glad you are here and taking these first steps. Whether you are dealing with interpersonal struggles, depression, anxiety, trauma, life stressors or other concerns, I will meet you with compassion and understanding, and walk alongside you on this journey to healing and growth.

My name is Deems and I'm an LCSW. I am heavily CBT and DBT based but as with most therapists, I draw from a lot of places depending on the situation. I am casual, chatty, eclectic in both my work and my personal interests, and am big on transparency and accountability. Queer and Poly friendly. Big nerd. Dad. I like art, the gym, reading, and going overboard on a new hobby every 6 months.

I practice as a dual licensed therapist (MFT & LPCC) in Fresno, California and offer online service via Grow. Call me for consult at (559) 242-6670 or inquire at: Justin@Stargaardtherapy.com. I have more availability than posted. I contract on site service in Fresno area including group therapy and consulting. Before joining Grow, I served my local community in Fresno for six years with a local office and also provided on site therapy with sex offenders via containment model. I've worked with survivors of various traumas & family dysfunctions, depression, sexual abuse survivors, anxiety, life stressors, ADHD, co-parenting dynamics, anger issues, and a whole host of other stuff that brings one to seek therapy. As far as specialty, I am certified as an independent provider with California's sex offender management board and trained in areas surrounding sexual abuse, offending, and how therapy is rendered based on reducing risk. At present, I offer my expertise in this area primarily to parents who want to protect their kids, survivors who want to assert against future grooming/victimization, and to adults desiring to build safe and healthy sexual expression. Theoretical models I apply, include a cognitive behavioral model emphasizing using behavior to get the changes you want. In practice, I've found this model to be accessible for first time clients, offer a practical conceptualization of therapy work, and all while offering an ease of going "deeper" as work may incorporate childhood experiences, attachment, relational dynamics, and in room transference. When I work with couples and families I utilize a structural model which emphasizes getting parents on the same team and building a functional hierarchy for the family unit. I've seen first hand how smooth a family can run when mom and dad work together and own their home. Consults welcome 24/7.

I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist. My Grow practice is focused exclusively on insomnia. I work with clients who have difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, waking too early, or feeling anxious and frustrated about sleep. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), a structured, evidence-based treatment that addresses the thoughts and behaviors that keep insomnia going. Our sessions will focus specifically on understanding and improving your sleep rather than providing general therapy for unrelated concerns. We will use sleep tracking and practical strategies tailored to your patterns, with the goal of helping you sleep more consistently and feel more confident in your ability to manage occasional difficult nights.

I’ve studied and practiced many methods. I like to be eclectic and work with you with what’s needed to get you back on track and feeling your best. I was a teacher for many years, then went for my masters in social work. Life has many twists and turns. Sometimes we can feel off balance or are suffering from depression or anxiety. We’ve all had our ups and downs and getting back on track and feeling our best is a goal I enjoy helping people achieve to live the life they want. Are your coping skills no longer working? Do you need new ones? Maybe you have some unprocessed traumas that need to be processed so that you can move forward.
