Hi, I’m Teresa Haro — Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (CA LMFT #117156/Valid 1/31/2028)--Offering secure Telehealth therapy throughout California. Therapy can help you build self-awareness, confidence, and a stronger relationship with yourself—while also empowering you to form more fulfilling, meaningful connections with others. My goal is to offer a safe, compassionate space where you can explore your experiences and begin healing at a pace that feels right for you. I support adults facing challenges such as: Trauma, Depression, Anxiety, and Stress, OCD, Major life transitions, Attention-related concerns, Bipolar disorder, Low self-esteem, Relational stress, Co-dependency, Grief & Loss, and Intergenerational or Childhood Trauma. These emotional experiences can make life feel heavy and overwhelming—but you don’t have to navigate them alone. I am fluent in Spanish and Bi-cultural. In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Following an initial meeting and comprehensive evaluation of your emotional needs, an individualized care plan will be developed in collaboration with you, taking into consideration your personal goals, strengths, and current challenges. You will receive timely, individualized support to develop effective coping strategies designed to address emotional discomfort and promote improved emotional well-being. You will be introduced to and guided in the use of evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, grounding strategies, and mindfulness practices. These approaches are intended to help reduce emotional distress, strengthen coping skills, and support meaningful and sustainable positive change.

The treatment methods and tools I utilize

I have experience utilizing interventions from cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, solutions-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, positive psychology approaches, and mindfulness practices. Client's can expect to learn effective tools to utilize such as cognitive restructuring, mindfulness, behavior activation, and others to address their emotional distress.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My therapeutic approach is client-centered and grounded in compassion, authenticity, and empathy. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment in which clients feel seen, heard, and valued. Through this collaborative approach, I support clients in exploring their experiences, developing a stronger sense of self, and working toward greater personal growth in seeking fulfillment toward life satisfaction. I believe effective therapy honors each individual’s lived experience, strengths, values, and unique personal story. In addition to providing therapeutic support, I draw upon my knowledge of community resources to help clients access services and supports that may enhance their overall well-being and complement the therapeutic process.

I have had the privilege of supporting a diverse range of clients, including college students; women navigating life challenges; survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse; gay men (MSM); immigrants and first-generation individuals; adults and older adults; people experiencing significant life transitions; and individuals healing from difficult or abusive relationships. My undergraduate studies also provide a strong foundation for understanding the geopolitical factors that influence migration from Latin America to the United States, as well as the emotional stress and complexities individuals may experience when leaving their country of origin. My current practice focuses on providing counseling services to adults. At this time, I do not offer couples counseling.
