I’m Arturo, and I’m truly honored you’re here. My journey from 24 years of service in the United States Marine Corps—including multiple deployments and combat tours—to becoming a therapist has shaped the heart of my work: resilience, compassion, and a deep respect for the strength it takes to seek support. For the past four years, I’ve served underrepresented communities as a therapist, helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and major life transitions. I’m deeply committed to creating a safe, confidential space where men can speak openly—man to man—about the challenges we often carry quietly, and where anyone can feel seen, understood, and supported. I also work with couples using Gottman‑informed methods to strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and foster deeper emotional connection. My background includes extensive work with domestic violence, family conflict, and complex relational patterns, including facilitating groups focused on safety, healing, and empowerment. Whether you are seeking personal clarity, emotional relief, or stronger, healthier relationships, I’m here to walk alongside you with practical tools, compassion, and unwavering support as you build a life rooted in purpose, well‑being, and meaningful connection.

Hi there! It’s my pleasure to greet you! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California, and I can’t wait to partner with you on your wellness journey.
There are times when life seems more difficult than we can bear. In today’s current climate, life can seem more confusing as the days go by. Managing social issues, employment challenges, relationship difficulties, and personal struggles can be all consuming. With over 6 years of experience, I am passionate about partnering with clients on how to see the best in themselves and how to establish autonomy and agency in their lives. As a wife and mother within a blended family, I am very familiar with life’s struggles and challenges. Stress, anxiety, depression, disappointments, don’t have to get the final say in your life. My role as a therapist is to support you with discovering peace, inspiration, acceptance, and a sense of belonging.
Deciding to seek therapy to help manage your day-to-day life is a huge first step. You are important and you’re worth taking that step. If you believe that I can support you as you re-establish goals for your life, I would love to connect with you.
I’m a Marriage and Family Therapist who works with thoughtful individuals and couples who work hard yet still feel anxious. Many are looking for more than surface-level coping skills—they want deeper understanding and lasting change. Many of the people I work with are navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, or big questions about meaning, purpose, and identity—often while holding demanding roles in their personal or professional lives.
In addition to my clinical work, I teach couples counseling as an adjunct professor at California State University, Northridge (CSUN). Teaching keeps me grounded in both theory and practice, and it reflects how much I genuinely enjoy helping people understand relationships more deeply—whether that’s learning how conflict works, how attachment shapes connection, or how to communicate with more honesty and care.
I also bring an unconventional but deeply human element into my work: humor. I’m a comedian outside the therapy room, and when used thoughtfully, humor can help lower defensiveness, build trust, and make difficult conversations feel more approachable. Therapy doesn’t have to be heavy all the time to be meaningful.
I have particular experience working with healthcare workers and others in high-pressure systems, including those balancing responsibility, burnout, and emotional fatigue while still needing to function at a high level. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded, integrating attachment-based, somatic, mindfulness-based, and practical strategies tailored to each client.
Above all, I aim to create a space where people feel safe, understood, and free to explore what really matters to them—at their own pace, and with curiosity rather than judgment.
All things are interconnected. To feel better, you have to act better. To feel better, you have to think better. To think better, you have to feel better. To act better, you have to think better. To think, feel, and act better, you have to care for your physical health. To care for your physical health, you have to think, feel, and act better. Each has a corresponding effect on the other. However, the aspect of ourselves that we have the most direct control of is what we do, our acting. While we can influence other people, we cannot control other people. A great source of conflict and unhappiness results from our efforts to control others. If you want better relationships, the only thing we can control is what we do, how we choose to relate. We are responsible for what we do. Others are responsible for what they do. Accepting this fundamental reality and thinking, feeling, and acting in accordance with it is how we increase our experience of power, freedom, belonging, meaning and, very importantly, fun.
My professional experience includes over 30 years of post-Master’s clinical work, including leadership experience in foster care, chemical abuse and addiction, inpatient and outpatient mental health services, and crisis intervention, de-escalation, and hospitalization.
